Opeth Achieve Highest Chart Position Ever!

From Opeth
12 June 2008 at 23:00
Impressive reviews are pouring in, including 4-stars from Blender ("Prog was rarely as songful as the brutal beauty here"), raves from Pitchfork Media ("Watershed has friction, and friction brings heat. Those left cold by metal's po-faced tendencies might well warm up to it") and a feature in Billboard ("one of the most unique bands straddling the line between progressive music and metal"). Frontman Mikael Akerfeldt currently graces the cover of Decibel. An astounding 19,000 copies were sold in its first week in stores. Therefore, the verdict is definitely in. Sweden's Opeth have set and raised the bar with their latest album, Watershed. Watershed debuted at #23 on the Billboard chart, the band's highest ever chart position and the biggest first week sales bow in its career. While the trend in today's climate finds many career bands having smaller initial weeks, Opeth, like their music, buck all trends and do their own thing, continuing to go against the grain, trending upwards and making progress.

Fresh off the hugely successful Progressive Nation Tour with labelmates Dream Theater, Opeth will return to US soil this fall for a headline run, bringing their unique blend of prog, death metal, hard rock and Swedish folk to the masses and more.

Additionally, one of the most popular New York City newspapers, The New York Times, reviewed Opeth. The article ran in this past Sundays paper. Check that out by clicking below and scrolling down.

Grand total of 4 now. That's basically an entire day, spread out over 3 years.

But 3 of those times it's been Math, can you really blame me? Besides, it's not like I go smoke or anything. I just sat in a field listening to Joanna Newsom.

That's what everyone was saying - I must have made an offhand comment to that effect, one which I can't even remember...guess I'm always full of surprises.  Wink

I still have this sneaky suspicion this girl who's showing interest in me is a set-up... hmm.

Paranoid?  Yes!

This girl is a good friends with Dan and Dan dislikes me and knows how I feel towards his girlfriend... so he could ask this other girl to show interest in me to try and get me off the scent...

If so, that's cunning.

However, I don't think even he would try that!

I have had no hot water running in my house for the last 24 hours.

Why not? Do you still get cold water?

Well I don't f**king knowConfused
Even if I checked the hot water service thingo, I would have no idea what to look for.
And yes, obviously I still get water, otherwise I would have probably died of dehydration by now.
