I'm not too different there. My RPI exposure is pretty much limited to the Le Orme and PFM samples here on PA, and Canterbury is limited to a handful of Caravan albums and a couple of Robert Wyatt albums. I'd probably explore further if there was easier availability at a more reasonable cost. I don't think that I have ever seen a Le Orme or PFM album in any of the record stores that I frequent, and aside from the above mentioned CDs I have rarely seen any Canterbury. I'd probably download these pretty quickly if there was access on eMusic, but so far there isn't too much available there yet either. |
I've sent in a couple of angry requests on iTunes, so hopefully they'll do something about it

Cool. I can't remember the last time that I listened to Caress of Steel. It was the first Rush CD that I owned. I think that I will have to dust it off this weekend and give it a spin.

I listened to it not long ago and I still get a kick out of it. Not my
favorite, but still enjoyable. The Necromancer is such a fun track

As long as you like it and it's RPI I should be happy. But 4 stars for THAT!?

Sarry... but I like it!
You'll be happy to know that part II of that album won't be getting such nice treatment

I went to check eMusic again for Le Orme. Previously they just had Anthology. I haven't downloaded it, but I wonder if it might give me a good introduction to the band. Anyhow, they also showed Elementi, II Fiume, Ad Glorium, and L'Infinito. I didn't sign in, so I wonder if these are available in the US or not. Would you recommend any of these 4 albums for a download if they are available?

Out of those I have Elementi and L'Infinito. Both are good, but Elementi is especially epic.

From Caress of Steel, I always loved the shorter songs. It is kind of funny. I like Necromancer and Fountain of Lamneth, but I've never fully got in to them. Probably because they've never played them live on any of their albums. That would be so cool though if they dug one of them out to play on their next tour.

That would be cool! I can't see it happening though. On that album my favorite tracks were always Bastille, Fountain, and Necromancer. They're all good though.

I would kill to hear Lakeside Park or The Necromancer live. The
Necromancer is a little lo-key for a Rush concert, methinks, but still.
I'd rather hear Hemispheres if they were going to play a full out epic.
Although I think I'd give my left arm and nut to hear The Camera Eye
live.
You heard me right

Dude, you could probably live without your left nut, although removal might be quite painful, but how and the hell are you going to play air drums at the next Rush gig without your left arm.

Hmm... is it too late to give up the other nut instead of the arm?
