Topic: Your favorite Pink Floyd song out my favorites. Posted: October 23 2008 at 21:51 |
Round Three. What's your favorite Pink Floyd song out of my favorites?
EDIT: The winner of the Genesis song poll was "Firth of Fifth"
So far...
King Crimson: Epitaph Genesis: Firth of Fifth

SUMMER 68 .....followed by the first 3!
That's a weird selection especially towards the end, but i guess mine would be strange as well ..and what i like is you're going the road less travelled!

I'm voting Astronomy Domine. Pick yer version, but it's the first PF song I ever heard, when I put that needle in the groove on Ummagumma.

I'll be the odd man out and vote "Two Suns in the Sunset." Excellent song.

Sheep. Can't get enough of those chords in the outro... One of Pink Floyd's more creative and unique tracks. Creepy and yet upbeat. Much a fan. Animals is their strongest release, in my opinion.

San Tropez is it for me. Along with Fearless, one of the hidden gems of Meddle, or maybe the whole Floyd discography.

Lots of personal favourites of mine in this list... Makes it hard to choose only one! Anyway, I voted for "Sheep", a tour-de-force that marries great music (I totally endorse LiquidEternity's use of the word 'creepy' to describe its atmosphere) with Waters' lyrics at their vitriolic best. Runners-up for me would be "Astronomy Domine" (one of the best album openers in the history of music), "Remember a Day", and "Welcome to the Machine".

Not easy to choose from, the more because this list contains a few of my early favourites. But now I vote for Grantchester Meadows, but when I hear this, I should want to hear 'Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict' too. And when I've heard this, I long for 'The Narrow Way', which is one of my all-time favourite Pink Floyd songs...

Jozef, you have included 2 of my very favourites, Sheep and Any Colour You Like. However, as a Floyd buff I love most of these.
I will vote for Sheep, an incredible piece of music. The proggy instrumental break in the middle is immense, and as for the end sequence, well, simply brilliant.
Great poll

Animals is my favorite Floyd album too.
'Sheep' gets my vote, therefore..
