My "playing days" have long past me by. I am just an armchair athlete these days, but growing up I'd generally be playing baseball, football, basketball, or street hockey during most non-school hours. Not that I was ever very good at any of them, but I'd play with friends who were of the same quality so we'd be competitive and I was pretty good amongst that competition. |
I'd play tennis more often if I actually had someone who would play with me. I play basketball occasionally as well. That's about it. I prefer mental games.

I'm picturing a head-butting contest, but I suspect that brain wrestling would be more like a battle of wits. Maybe a classic battle of Tic Tac Toe or something. ![LOL LOL](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif) Actually, it is kind of funny that ESPN broadcasts the annual Spelling Bee and I think the Geography Bee too. And just last weekend I was flipping through the channels and ESPN was showing a National Scrabble contest.

Hey Pat, Shred Room rules permit you to wear your shoes in here. You didn't need to leave them out on the welcome mat. I realize that you are enjoying showing off your various argyle socks and all, but with the Suede roomers out and about aren't you afraid of what you might find in your shoes when you go to put them on later.

Or simultaneous sudoku battles! ![LOL LOL](smileys/smiley36.gif)
That sounds so awesome.

That is odd. ![Confused Confused](smileys/smiley5.gif)

I like working out the Sudokus in the paper. The 5 star ones tend to cause smoke to come out of my ears, but 4 stars and below I can usual handle.

Only 1.5 socks to go, then time for some weird abstract art. And I might also play Desperate Straights. Yeah.

Are Desperate Straights anything like Dire Straits? I suspect not.

To be honest I actually never tried one until not long ago. I tried it and didn't feel like working on it anymore. Sudokus, crossword puzzles, etc. are not really my thing, but they are interesting.

I have an electronic Sudoku game too. That one I am limited to the lower levels though. At least with the paper I can write down and erase the possible numbers in each box so I can keep track of each box. With the electronic version, it requires too much use of brain memory and that ship has sailed.

You'd be surprised by how much useless stuff that I have learned by doing crossword puzzles over the years. They come in handy every once in awhile while playing computer Jeopardy, or watching Jeopardy or other trivia game shows on TV. I tend to do crossword puzzles while watching TV. Keeps the left side of the brain occupied while the right side of the brain is watching TV. Or is it the right side while the left side is watching TV?

Oh, I could imagine that would definitely be true.I tend to do crossword puzzles while watching TV. Keeps the left side of the brain occupied while the right side of the brain is watching TV. I can complete medium skill Sudoku puzzles over at websudoku.com in about 35 minutes.
Pat, I haven't finished my Heny Cow marathon yet. I've done the studio albums though. Concerts is next.
Oh and non-Sockian Cow are best.
