These headphones are the best I ever bought! They are easily breakable (well, not really easy but a little) They have an incredible bass, and they're cheap compared to some 200$ headphones with the same bass!

They're between 80$ and 100$.

I got me a pair of Sennheiser HD414's about 30 years ago for $49. Never have needed another pair. I just bought replacement pads for them about 3 years ago.

Not me in the pic but the only one that I could find of them. That a 50th anniversarty edition of them.

A friend of mine was raving about these recently -

Everyone raves about their bass response, but what about across the range; these only retail for less than £40.00 in the UK - are they really that good, or has a name become the one to have...

I'd be interested in hearing them though.

Stylized for the metal fan, that's for sure.

Cost doesn't equal quality always, of course.  Always like to put a plug in for Consumer Reports.  I've never had a bad recommendation from them and they objectively test everything.  Plus you can do a web subscription and access all their ratings from back issues.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

I appreciate that certainly - my own ones (sony MDR-V500DJ)are superb

& these are less than £70 sterling - no, my query was whether these are just good for bass response or whether they're as good across the frequency range.

Why don't I know anyone who has them??
