I suppose that it had cooled enough that it didn't damage the carpet and was fairly easily vacuumed up.  I guess that it is better than letting a Henry Cow loose in a China shop.

Well, I am off for the evening.  I have a date with my young nephews and this guy.
I know that at least Patrick will be jealous of my good fortune.

Not yet, I did sort of find a phone number for the venue but it's just a mobile - haven't tried phoning it yet...

Oh right.  Well do keep me informed, won't you?  I need a ticket too.  £6 is a great price.

You did find this on their official site, didn't you?  I'm just making sure.

With any luck I shall phone tomorrow... will let you know what happens.

Yep, it's listed on their myspace.

Ah, I believe I'm friends with them on MySpace... I'll check!

Thanks, Melissa.  Let's hope there's good news.  I'll be happy to pay you back too. Big smile

Howdy shredders.  I thought I'd get my morning off with some heavy metal jazz fusion brought to you by Derek Sherinian, Virgil Donati, and Tony MacAlpine, otherwise known as Planet X.  The album Moonbabies was produced and mixed by Simon Phillips.  That name sounds familiar.  Should I know who he is?

Hey Scott, great choice there, love that album.  Do you have their new one, Quantum, as well?  Highly recommended.

And as promised, now playing Quantum.  This time Tony MacAlpine is nowhere to be found.  Instead on the guitar we find Bret Garsed and some guy named Allan Holdsworth.  And on bass guitar we have Jimmy Johnson (Coach?) and Rufus Philpot.

I'm going to see a Canadian trio in concert tonight.....

No not that one.

The band is called Inward Eye and they are from Winnipeg.  They are the opening band for the Roger Daltry and Peter Townsend band, otherwise known as The Who.  Quite a different opening act than the last time I saw The Who, when the opening act was a little known singer from England called Robert Plant.

Here is their MySpace page.  http://www.myspace.com/inwardeye  Ermm

Thank you.  It should be pretty good.  I really enjoyed The Who concert when I saw them a few years ago.

I have to decide about whether or not I can make this Tiles show on Friday.   I don't know about the two other bands but I saw Tiles with Discipline in March and that was pretty awesome.  Matthew Parmenter is performing solo, but it'll probably still be a great show.

Hello Everyone:

After finding ourselves without any shows in September (our East Coast trip
failed to materialize) we decided to add a few new tunes to rotate in and
out of our set list (one song from each CD actually). So..., if you're
within commuting range of Detroit come out to the Ritz in Warren, MI this
Friday, October 24th to hear what we've dusted off. Joining us will be
Matthew Parmenter (playing a solo set); the Pilz; and 50 Cent Headrush.

Click here for details (http://www.tiles- music.com/ liveshows. php)

Hope to see you there!

Hello-and-goodbye... just passing through at the moment (might be back later)...

I was just playing 'Unrest' by Henry Cow.  I definitely prefer it to 'Leg End'. Ermm

Anyway... have a good afternoon/evening everyone, I may return in a while...

Interesting.  Then you should definitely get the other two, in particular Western Culture.
