Didn't Terry Wogan start the "Hole in the Wall" thing years ago? |

You've got me going now, this one is definitely for Rach. I was at the cashpoint the other day when a short-sighted white van man asked me to check his balance.
So I pushed him over!!

Rach - you just made my day by starting this topic... Must say though, that after the 'jerk off' quote, I involuntary misread this one:
I'll leave the details to the imaginative reader... |

I remember when they were called Autobanks ...in fact, when I first started work Midland Bank in 1980, the ones we had then punched the "cashcard" (which you could only use 10 times) & only dispensed 10 £1.00 notes in a little plastic clip; if you didn't return the clip in the slot provided, we used to charge the customer an extra 30p How things have changed, eh? |

I do agree with you about the sun reflecting off the screen but they have to be low down to allow for the vertically-challenged members of society. Anyway, RBS are so hard up now we're thinking of asking for some of our cash back. We've even had to flog Sir Fred's private jet. |

How about having one for shorter people next to one for taller people? I'm 5'11" so not EXCEPTIONALLY tall, but some cashpoints are really toooooooo low to use without crippling myself, more consideration for tall people please!

Rach, for some people Automatic Telling Machines are too high. I have a friend who has issues with them. Only some of them they can reach at all. |

I know, I know I am being unreasonable, but the one in Cricklade SERIOUSLY is damaging to use, I am using it whilst trying to stop a crash helmet rolling down the street, trying to prop up a mail sack, doing all the things I mentioned above and squatting an unladylike fashion to use the blasted thing. I am NOT being reasonable, I am being UNreasonable, I am thumping tables and being annoyed. It's part of old age I think. I want things MY way!
Sorry for my unthoughtful behaviour........... It's how I felt at the time though! |

Is that banker as in Cockney rhyming slang? I think the phrase "keep staff morale up" is incorrect - it's not exactly up at the moment. One of the best things we had was a scheme to reward outstanding pieces of work with vouchers - and it's just been scrapped. I'm expecting a coin slot to appear on the coffee machine any day now. |
