 Topic: Most beautiful/romantic/sentimental prog moments

Wanted to make a poll about it long ago, but it didn't work out... Mainly because everyone will have their own opinion about this, I think. So the question is: What is most beautiful / romantic / sentimental moment in prog? Your opinions please... For me there are some: Marillion - The ending of The Script Of The Jester's Tear, Camel - that guitar melody of Lady Fantasy... Klaus Schulze - Wahnfried 1883 Anthony Phillips -The main theme of Slow Dance there are some more for me but I can't think at the moment

The ending of "Starless" (for personal reasons as well as musical) comes immediately to my mind when thinking of such moments in prog. Another song that simply oozes romance to me is Caravan's "Winter Wine" - just listen to the lyrics, and Richard Sinclair's peerless vocal delivery of them.

Are the two most romantic and touching songs I've yet heard.
My deep love for Ocean Gypsy, C'est La Vie and Robert Wyatt's incredible Sea Song shouldn't surprise anyone, either.

Romantic - You do it right - Can, She said - BJH, The duel - Esperanto, Birth - Focus, Love is how 'y' make it - Gong, Histories sans parole - Harmonium.
Emotional - Alifib - Robert Wyatt, Red - KC, Pioneers over C - VDGG, Legend of a mind - The moody blues, Cogwheels, crutches and cyanide - Spirogyra, Time heals - Peter Hamill, Get'em out by friday - Genesis, Drip drip - Comus.
You see, not all emotions are romantic.

Not your typical answer, but for me, the last 5 minutes of "The Antique" by Kayo Dot are the most beautiful 5 minutes of music I've ever heard...

Very beautiful, indeed!
For me, a lot of beautiful moments come from post-rock. There are so many beautiful songs under that banner that I don't want to bother listing any. Outside of that, here are a few:
"Collapse the Light into Earth" - Porcupine Tree
"Immortelle and Paper Caravelle" - Kayo Dot
"The Great Escape" - Marillion
"Hours of Wealth" - Opeth
As far as sentimental moments go, there are also many of those. The first one that pops into my mind is the end of Bridge Across Forever when Neal sings that last verse climaxing with "AWAAAAAKE" and the music that follows (naturally, the music leading up to it as well). Gets me everytime.

I agree with epignosis. Though not prog, if you are talking about romanticism and beauty, it's hard to beat Jeff Buckley.

I can't see any mention of Buckley in epignosis's post or am I missing something, but I agree wholeheartedly, what an incredibly beautiful voice he had!
