The first ELOY album was just plain hard rock!

Their next two...FLOATING and INSIDE are more in the heavy prog realm, a lot of hammond and strong guitar mixed with spacey moments.

POWER AND THE PASSION is the first one that can be categorized as Space/symphWink

Not easy for sure, but still try Kohntarkosz  or Live/Hai; maybe you'll get the rewards.
MDK and the first 2 , yes it's definitely not easy listening ..you've got to be in the moodLOLWink

Scott, you and I are on the same page. Absolutely breathtaking. Do you have either the live CD or DVD yet of this performance?

So that's Eroc.  Don't have any of his solo albums or any Grobschnitt.  But he produced some Everon albums.  Clap  But that stash has gotta go.  LOL

^^ Great choice! That's my favourite Kansas album. All songs are great. The sole exception is Lonely Street, which unfortunately disrupts the intensity of the album. Still good on it's own though. Prog-blues? Tongue But first and foremost I think Song for America is the album that catches the soul of Kansas in the best possible way.

I have Live/Hhai.  I'm not sure why, but it hasn't grabbed me yet.  Maybe I need to give it a few more spins.  I love De Futura from Udu Wudu, and side 1 isn't too bad either.  MDK, I could never get into, although now that I know the lyrics "Hey, hey, hey, I wish to borrow Pakistan" and "Soon, eh Gandalf, very soon"...maybe I'll get into that one.  LOL

I'll check it out.  Have heard a lot about them and about Eroc.  Been meaning to check them out for awhile now anyway.  Will give Solar Music a try on my next round of purchases.

Great, great album; but, I don't know why they don't have the title track leading off the album.  Would have a much better impact than "Down The Road".

Yes, Steve Walsh was never the'' prog'' element within the group, thus making some albums un-balanced. Thanks Livgren was the main composerSmile
