I never post anything anywhere without doing more than basic research, often in depth.

Yes , sometimes they have songs which seemcoming from South California.....On ''Everybody needs Everyone'', you will find....2 of them linked together. One from Lees, one from Holroyd.

How do you like the singing of each one??
[/QUOTE]

They even had that 12-string Rickenbacker ala Roger McGuinn sound on a few songs.

Right now, Gone To Earth seems to really stick in my memory as it pertains to the vocals. Very beautiful harmonies that really sound like CSN and Poco (between the Head Over Heels to Indian Summer period). Very lush. I'll have to spin Time Honoured Ghosts, Once Again, and Gone To Earth a bit more (along with Everyone Is Everybody Else and Octoberon when they arrive).

Welcome To The Show doesn't even sound like the same band. Holroyd went from a very wispy TBS style of singing to a falsetto style that sounds like Barry Gibb. The sound just became sterile with this one (from the little I know of this band). Even the drums were sampled through a Fairlight system, which gives it that almost fake sound. If I delve into BJH from the 80's on, I'll do so cautiously.

Yes, i told you Holroyd stunk with the 80s...not only his voice is different as you mention, but almost all his songs are devoid of LEES guitar  to be replaced by the infamous 80s synth... John Lees at least tried to keep the flame except his painful tries at ''hard rock''.......very bad indeed, the only one that works is the one you have ''welcome to the show''Wink

Not sure I even want to go there, Antoine. I'm enjoying the early stuff too much to tarnish it. Where did the wheels start to fall off (in addition to Woolly leaving)?

I am looking forward to the Legacy DVD. I was hoping it would arrive today, but it didn't.

It start to fall off with EYES OF THE UNIVERSE.....the first without Wooly!!!!, but there are still good songs on it. The one before , XII has already some more commercial songs like LOVE IS EASY, but the album holds its own!
The worst are the next 3....Turn Of the tides/ Ring Of Changes/ Victims of  circumstance..............but i was a fan, bought them all when they came outLOLWink

Actually 3: Once Again, Gone To Earth and Time Honoured Ghosts.

I love kicking back with a DVD after the wife and kid head to bed. Emily's sound asleep and the wife is beat and heading to bed now. Might have to put in a Marillion DVD. Embarrassed
