Shocked

..well, perhaps a little too soon to say, let's see first.

I think Krugman's new word Femafication: (the act of blindly following an ideology that produces disastrous results, usually in public policy), is possibly a misnomer since it sounds more like gender realignment. LOL
What?

'So you don’t expect to see Britain playing a leadership role.'

Cheeky b******d.

I dare say that he didn't mention that the US took the leadership in amassing the greatest national debt.

The Outstanding Public Debt as of 13 Oct 2008 at 06:13:52 PM GMT is:

$%201%200%20,%202%207%209%20,%202%201%203%20,%205%204%208%20,%203%205%201%20.%202%201%20

The estimated population of the United States is 304,901,480
so each citizen's share of this debt is $33,713.23.

The National Debt has continued to increase an average of
$3.34 billion per day since September 28, 2007!
Concerned? Then
tell Congress and the White House!

Hmmmmm

Hmm, I'm watching Crimewatch and think the use of Godspeed You Black Emperor! is rather inappropriate.

Does anyone else feel the same way about such music being used for such horrific crimes?

Yeah, did they have to add more on to the end of it or something?

42 days detention knocked back - nationalising the banks - problems with Iceland - it's almost like having a proper Labour government in power!

I think we should boycott Bjork and Sigur Ros in retaliation. That'll show them!

Would that be financially, or morally?

Never mind Kerry - have another child, sell the story of its conception and your split from its father to another wobbling-classes feeding comic, record another advert promoting yourself as the model mother (model in this case meaning a mother who is happy to force feed her children salt & sugar laden ready meals in favour of any kind of nutrition), have another breakdown whilst trying to remember why you are famous in the first place, sell the story of that to a different hack-job glossy & hey presto - You have more money to spend at Iceland!

Rob - it's the full quote which gets me:

"This is an unexpected turn of events. The British government is, after all, very much a junior partner when it comes to world economic affairs. It’s true that London is one of the world’s great financial centers, but the British economy is far smaller than the U.S. economy, and the Bank of England doesn’t have anything like the influence either of the Federal Reserve or of the European Central Bank. So you don’t expect to see Britain playing a leadership role"

I can never remember the difference between being patronised or being condescended to...

Well we w ere in danger of turning into the 51st state for a while. Maybe we should make them revert to colonial status in return for the bail out Wink
