This is longer version of Vormittagsspuk by Hans Richter. This time with different music. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=bqguzDeejFk The lady coming out the doors is Madeleine Milhau, who was the wife of Darius Milhaid (also coming out of the doors). I just looked on Wikipedia and she only died this year. She was in 1902. Wow, that was good going on her part! Paul Hindemith is also in the film. Edited by James - October 09 2008 at 20:44 |

Yeah most of 'em are findable on the internet since they're short movies. Haven't seen the second one. |

They have Ballet mécanique on YouTube. How about the second one from 1928 to 1956? Edited by James - October 09 2008 at 20:26 |

It'd be interesting to listen to Art Zoyd's Nosferatu album whilst watching F. W. Murnau's Nosferatu.

I really liked that one. Un Chien Andalou by Bunuel/Dali and Ballet Mécanique by Fernand Léger are great examples too. |

Well I was kind of half-watching The Lady Vanishes earlier and then had weird deja vu as I realised I'd seen the 1979 version with Elliot Gould in. |

Fritz Lang's movies are really nice.
You should check out more avant-garde movies from the 1920s-30s though James cause they're totally RIO. |

A little service called Netflix.
Though I don't know if it is offered in the UK. I have a film history class and I'm seeing all those films. Yesterday I saw Blackmail by Hitchcock. Edited by KoS - October 09 2008 at 20:00 |

Hmm I'm not that much into downloading but you can probably get it through a torrent of some kind.

Hmmm but is there any way of seeing them without having to go to London or order them? Bearing in mind I don't watch DVDs?
By the way, there's a cool Indukti tune on YouTube that accompanies Metropolis. It's very good. |

Yeah I know. Most universities have all those in their libraries. Or there is probably a specialised movie store in London cause there is one in montreal. |

F. W. Murnau Fritz Lang Early Hitchcock I'm mostly after the silent ones. I've also never seen Metropolis and want to see it. |

I have about 7 or 8 Elton Dean albums and they're all different.
The best by far is Elton Dean's Ninesense - Live at BBC It's stunning. Seven for Me is perfect in every way. You need it. |
