I'm looking to get a CD of the 1812 but not sure whether to get a choral version or not.
Now listening to his 5th Symphony. What with all my prog listening over recent years I've neglected my classical stuff. I'd forgotten just how good Tchkovsky's music is. Next I'll listen to his 6th

Rob, this happens to be an exceptionally good version of the 1812, and also contains some well known Borodin & RK to boot...furthermore, you can pick it up pretty inexpensively these days...
