If I remember correctly Tony Levin plays bass on the ABWH album though, doesn't he? Not too shabby of a replacement. |
I think you're right. He was also on the ABW&H sections of Union as well. I think Saga's Ian Crichton was on that one, too.

Yes, I think you are right...my point is merely that the bass is quite restrained on the album (maybe in the mixing/ production?) and although I think the album is generally quite a decent effort, it could have benefitted with the rhythm section being brought to the fore...
and Chris Squire is a GREAT bass player...

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Holy mackerel, the final moments of "For Today" on Camel's A Wink And A Nod could be the most beautiful ever recorded. The entire song is amazing.

It appears that I might have to accelerate my efforts on getting A Wink and A Nod, as I don't have that album yet. I still have to get Mirage too.

Scott, IMO it surpasses anything they did in the 80's and 90's (even though I really enjoy Dust & Dreams). The Snowgoose is still my favorite, though. You should think about snagging a copy if you have the chance. E

I have Dust and Dreams and that one is very good. I only like a couple of songs on Snowgoose however. For whatever reason, most of Snowgoose doesn't really register with me. Probably, because it is entirely instrumental and it isn't heavy enough for my tastes.

Man, Snowgoose gives me gooseflesh. I didn't think I'd care for it either; but, it's turned into one of my all time favorites. E
