The Beatles appreciation thread

So, I've read and heard that Sgt. Pepper's is 'the first' prog rock album.
Whatever, I'm making this thread to talk about the Betales, what you like, dislike, their aportations to music, etc.
I see their albums as a compilation of great pieces, every album has at least 2 o 3 very famous songs everywhere, they were pioneers of rock music...

well, I can't express my love for them, I'll only say that 'Abbey Road' is, to date, y favorite Beatles album

So, what about you?

Never a fan. 

Yep Love the Beatles but never Really liked  Sgt. Pepper very  Much

they knew how to crystallize a song down its most relevant parts and leave out the extra fat, making music that seemed to arrive preordained  ..funny cause their early days were closer to punk rock shows than the master songsmiths we see later

....And i think this album appreciation has also suffered because it was released just at the time of their break-up and a lot of people felt ''betrayed'  and were disappointed' by that as the Fab four were part of their daily lives, so a certain resentment against the Beatles at the time has to be taken in consideration  and LET IT BE paid the price and still is. ( was considered as a rushed album even if it was recorded BEFORE Abbey road!)

The Beatles were the reason I started getting into prog in the '70's.  They were and still are my "favorite" band.  I was raised in a musical family (classical music and jazz and, later, rock and folk were heard in our house all the time).  In fact, it was my bebop jazz-trumpeter dad who introduced the Beatles to all of us, in 1969.  The experience of hearing each one of their albums was an adventure for me.  You never knew what style you would hear, what guitar or keyboard sound, what sound effects, what harmonies.  Their eclectic approach to rock perfectly suited my eclectic musical upbringing.  For some of the same reasons I liked the Beatles, I also took to progressive rock.

Hum they're... Amazing. My favourite albums are Revolver and Sgt. Pepper's. Revolver, yeah
