I remember half-assing essays in high school and getting good grades while most kids had to have days to write one up. I wouldn't want to grade papers now with text and instant messaging shorthand being what kids consider good language use.

It's funny to see "w/" and "btw" in essays. What's funnier is to see the failing grades of the students who wrote the essays. I hardly ever abbreviate on AIM, aside from band names and a few acronyms. It bothers me to not spell out everything.

In my English class, along with most of my classes, there are 2 or 3 A's out of 20 to 30 kids.

That's quite sad really. I managed to mantain an A average in all my English classes in high school. Senior year though it almost slipped to a B because my English teacher didn't like me as much anymore for some reason. Granted I never did anything to get him to like or dislike me. I can't stand people who suck up to teachers.

Last year I got straight A's. This year, so far I have straight A's. Unfortunately, my GPA will go down because I'm taking US History 1 as an A-level class instead of AP, which counts as a B in AP. Nobody at my school has ever gotten an A in US History 1AP and only a few have gotten B's, so I decided to take the class a level lower.

Good luck with that. I'm in 10th as well. I hope that when I get to college I'll meet reincarnations of Henry Cow members and form a neo-RIO band.

Not much. I'm grooving to the sweet, at times, salsaness of Weather Report's "I Sing the Body Electric" for the first time. And on a very important note: OMGWTFHOLYCRAPONLY16MOREDAYSUNTILOPETH!!!!!!!!!!!!
