Thanks for the suggestions, Bj, but I can't use Zappa (even though it is Zappa) since I said I'd not use solo artists, as I might use them for something in the future.

Univers Zero will work though; you can edit your post to add a different one instead of Zappa if you want.

The latter one is Stormy Six's debut from 1969 which is purely a folk/blues album if Im not mistaken. They didn't begin to sound RIO until 1975 actually, on their Un Biglietto del Tram album. What other RIO would you recommend?     The follow-up to L'apprendista, Macchina Maccheronica, Stormy Six's most RIO album!         I happened to download that album today. I may buy it on vinyl. (I found it on ebay for $10!)     Definitely do that!!   BTW, ever heard Gramigna? Very good Italian Prog/RIO band that also features bassoon and oboe.

The word "bassoon" got my attention. I can't find anything by them from ebay or amazon though.
