That's crazy. Confused

Most of those New England states are really screwy as well, so I've heard. The whole country is headed towards hell in a handbasket, especially if Obama gets in... which I think is going to happen. Dead

You what?

I'd rather have a Democrat than a Republican in power. Big%20smile

We don't need another Bush... McCain is another Bush.  Perhaps even worse.

I have some Bartok. Any recommendations for Webern?

I don't know Webern myself yet but I know he was a big influence on the Chamber Prog scene. Big%20smile

I guess his chamber works maybe a place to start.  I'd Wiki him and see what it says.

Which other composers were big influences on the Chamber Prog scene?

Albert Huybrechts (but he's really hard to find)
Stravinsky
Bartók
Messiaen
Webern
Shostakovich
Charles Ives (more an influence on other avant-prog, rather than chamber)
Schoenberg
Alban Berg

I don't know anything about classical. I don't know if I should fix that or not.

You need some Messiaen.

He sounds like Henry Cow at times. Big%20smile

You'll also enjoy Bartók if you enjoy Univers Zéro and Present. Big%20smile

Yes you should.

You should also seek out some of Shostakovich's works.  They're very dark at times.  Kronos Quartet do an awesome version of a Shostakovich piece on their album Black Angels.

Yes, I have two copies of it in the original packaging but I haven't listened to it yet. I've heard other Stormy Six albums, though, but I forgot how they sounded. Maybe I'll listen to those again, but I put them away.

I'm planning on buying Shostakovich's complete symphonies soon. I already have Ives, Messiaen, Stravinsky, and Bartok.
