its pretty cool, isn't it?
and I have to say, I agree with all those comments... I'm single, I don't drink much (just an occasional real ale...  ), never smoked, never gamlbled...not even once. I don't live near a cinema, rarely eat out, and don't buy many clothes. My money goes on a small handful of things; food, keeping my car on the road, attending the occasional gig, books, and buying Prog & Classical CDs...
anything which doesn't fit into the above categories is a rare exception (my toiletries are often customer leftovers.... hey...don't judge, that's more money for Prog.... ) |

Unfortunately I do eat out way too much and I spend mucho dinero on baseball games and other sporting events; not to mention the occasional concert from time to time. The next big concert is The Who, in 3 weeks. I never had the chance to see them in their hey day, but I did see them a few years ago when they were touring and had Robert Plant opening for them. That was a very enjoyable show.
I am off to participate in a Michigan fall tradition: visiting the cider mill. Time to eat some fresh baked donuts and freshly made apple cider. Fattening as all get out, but mmm-mmm good stuff.

Oh and yes, I forgot about DT covering Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'. It had been quite a while since I had spun A Change of Season, and the memory just don't work the way that it used to.

I always start to feel very old in the SR when I talk about alcohol since most of the guys in there aren't even legally able to drink yet, so I kinda manage to bridge the gap between there and the Shredroom
Just curious, what does a case of beer go for in the UK and US?

Niacin (b3) is one of the few vitamins not in cornflakes, you'll be needing a whole-grain cereal for that
Then, I would have thought the preferred brekkie here would be....

Ugh, if Shreddies didn't taste of pre-digested cardboard, then perhaps.  Let's have porridge instead. It's a cold morning, we can allow ourselves to put whisky and sugar on it. A much more glowy effect than Readybrek!  (Perhaps best suited to non-drivers, though...)

No problems at all with Niacin from my end. A good, lively instrumental band. Billy Sheehan is an excellent bass player, and of course the B3 Hammond Organ is always welcome in the Shred Room.

I've only heard a couple of songs from The Reasoning, but I liked what I heard. I think that there was a thread quite awhile back comparing The Reasoning with Pure Reason Revolution. I really like The Dark Third from PRR, so I checked out the MySpace songs from The Reasoning. I definitely would love a chance to see Pendragon and Marillion but that's probably never going to happen.

Yes, you share the kind of frustration I do, about the number of Prog Metal bands whose 'European' tour seams to stop at the Netherlands, and is too timid to venture over the channel... 
I PM'd a certain Dutch correspondant of ours to advise him that Prisma and Indukti were playing 10 miles down the road from him one evening next month, and he said he'd see if he'd got anything else on... 
why can't they play Hereford???....

I wish I were a Peter Hammill/VDGG fan. Oct 9 The Magic Bag, Ferndale, MI (last played michigan in '79)
I bet that seeing Peter Hammill at The Magic Bag would be pretty cool indeed. This is where I saw Discipline and Tiles play in March. I bet that Matthew Parmenter would be in attendance for this one. I wonder if H.T. is going to this one, I seem to remember him telling me that he was a big VDGG fan.

I don't know the entire reason, but I'm pretty certain it had a lot to do with the whole Torman Maxt incident. There were probably other factors, but I think that that pushed him over the edge.
