I'm listening to Dream Theater... and, to be fair, they're more enjoyable than I'd expected. Still not an instant wow-never-going-to-recover album, but pretty good so far.

I used to listen to them all the time... barely do anymore.
It depends on the album really. I didn't enjoy their 2005 release Octavarium much at all. I have it, but practically never listen to it. Images and Words was their best IMO.
I guess I discovered more bands over time, and just had less time for DT perhaps.

Pretty much exactly my experience since I discovered PA.

I you enjoy that one, get Awake next. It's a darker/heavier album and definitely their strongest effort, IMO.

Definitely one of their finest. A breath of fresh air when I first heard it in the early 90s.

Then you need Le Silo's two albums.
The same pianist, yet even juicier!

What about 3.2 whatever-it-is? They will be acquired eventually, but they're a bit pricey ($20/ea. from Wayside)

I think I prefer Where is Tamashii? over Polyglot but then I really love the ethnic sound and the Japanese vocalist/violinist.
