I never finished Ceux du Dehors yesterday, so I'm playing that.

I know this.

At least she's not self-harming any more. Confused  That's a start.

What she needs is a hobby or something... I swear half of it is to do with boredom.  She doesn't have anything to do really... well she has but she's never in the mood to do it.

She's a really good artist.  Plus she has a guitar and keyboard in the house.  The art is the main thing though.  Instead, she'd rather drink and chat on MSN.  Or when her boyfriend is down from up north, drink in a pub.

I've been trying to get her out of the house in the evenings without much fruition.  Even if it's down the pub... if she has good company, she may drink less (in theory).  It's a gradual thing.  If she can drink less each night, it's a start.

If she can eat properly, it'll also help.

It might sound a bit (dunno what the word is) but risking the friendship and asking her to go to rehab and blowing it, well it it will be worth it either way, although her going to rehab is obviously the preferable situation.

I had a friend that I used to chat too for hours everyday, cos she felt like everyone abandoned her, and she would cut herself up to 15 times a day on bad days. I used to sacrifice going out with friends just to make so I could be there for here to give her hope so she wouldn't kill herself (and yes, she was a former alcoholic).

One day, she snapped at me, irrationally, 3 days after I had basically saved her life, because the day before I said one thing that offended her, and she didn't like me telling her to get help.
After a month or two, I looked back and realized how much that friendship stressed me out and took a toll on my own wellbeing.
After i moved on, I felt better overal.
Where she is now, I have no idea, since we never spoke again after February.

The sad thing is, I know people personally that were even worse off for a while, but that's not to downplay the seriousness of Kim's situation though.

Whenever I recall the story of my friend Sheridan being found alone, passed out and bleeding from the wrists in a gutter, I always hate to think something similar can happen again to someone I know, or a friend of a friend.

I've been chatting to her sister too and she think she (Kim) is an alcoholic.

Her sister is 17 and barely drinks at all.  She smokes though.

But as much as smoking is crap for you, I'd prefer it to drinking like she does.

I wish she'd take a leaf out of her sisters book.  Her sister gets bored too but she copes.

Geezus, you have some pretty godly alcohol tolerance man..... miness about the same actuallyLOL
In under 4 hours, I've been able to drink half a case of beer, I reckon if I drank non stop for 3 days straight, I could manage 36 every 24 hours, if not even more.

Oh God, Harry, that is a really terrible story.  I feel so bad for kids today that feel that hopeless and that they have nothing left to live for.

Jeez, that's a lot.  I can't drink like that anymore.  I have about 2-3 beers a night and my wife thinks 3 is too many.  LOL

It's good that you know her sister, Kim may be nearing "intervention" time when everyone who cares about her needs to unite and tell her she needs help.

Me too mate.

It's like an epidemic.  There seems to be more and more every day.

Kim is a really sweet and kind girl too. Plus she's gorgeous.  I do have feelings for her but I'm trying to look at things with a clear head without being biased.  I'm being the friend to her she wants me to be.

She needs friends round her yet she says she doesn't need many friends. Confused

I drank a case of beer in under three hours on my birthday. My problem is that I drink way too fast, plus that I can drink/eat a LOT in general.. LOL

Meh, I used to smoke up to 30 cigarettes a night at parties (god bless having lungs that are barely affected by smoking and I can still run just as far if I smoke then when I don't )  while not drinking, and I would wake up feeling a lot better than if I drank all night and forgot to drink water before going to sleep.
Smoking really isn't that bad at all, well it is, but I mean, 5 years of daily smoking is no where near as bad as like, 5 years of alcoholism.

To be honest, part of the reason why I stopped drinking so much was because it can shrink your balls if you drink too much over prolonged periods of timeLOL

Kim and her sister don't talk about personal stuff though.  They don't get on amazingly well.  I mean, they chat to each other but they're not close either.  They just chit-chat.

But her sister does care for her, I know that.  Their mother is constantly worrying about Kim as well.  They live miles and miles away.  I've never met her family.  I just chat to her sister online.

In fact, her sister seems to endorse a future relationship between Kim and I. Big%20smile

I'm going to see how her relationship works for a bit first... I'm hoping her boyfriend is able to work wonders with her.

Sorry to veer off-topic, but "La Corne Du Bois Des Perdus" is just stunningly dark and excellent.

I hate to think what would have happened to me if I didn't have so many interests and loved reading and playing guitar so much.
That kept me away from a lot of the bad stuff even if I do suspect I have had considerable mental problems for years.
I keep putting off a diagnosis, I really should go, because in any given year I have a few good months (such as now, I've been good in recent weeks) and then I have weird manic episodes ,which can be worsened by drinking.
My anxiety problems have for the most part gone in recent times luckily, which is partly why I don't sit here and post 200 everyday anymore.
