Including Brand X shows class , obviously U like the jazzier side. Went with KC because they encompass EVERYTHING!
I never post anything anywhere without doing more than basic research, often in depth.

Zappa, KC, TMV, and Yes are all in my top 10, but it's hard for me to vote against the almighty Frank, my favorite guitarist. One more for him and the wonderful Inca Roads!Thumbs%20Up

Maybe because they confuse Phish with Fish. Wink I'm inspired to put on Junta or Lawn Boy -- great stuff, maybe not up there with Coltrane Wink, but great none-the-less.

well they should be able to read. no one typos Phish for Fish

haha both great albums. do you have any of their live albums? many of their live sets were arranged like concept albums. there'd be transitions from song to song, reprises of themes, songs, both, etc.. not to mention the great jams. 85% of the time that i feel the need to throw on Phish it's gonna be a live album. Although Lawn Boy and A Picture of Nectar have this great summer time feeling to them.

I'm sorry.  King Crimson has nothing on Yes.  Or The Mars Volta (never thought I'd say that three months ago).

I think you should have had Herbie Hancock among your favorites, Darkshade. That's who i feel like voting for today.

I don't want to choose between Miles or KC. They both mean so much to me, in different ways.
Over land and under ashes
In the sunlight, see - it flashes
Find a fly and eat his eye
But don't believe in me
Don't believe in me
Don't believe in me

I've got to say, nearly every time I pick up a King Crimson album, I am ultimately disappointed.  Larks Tongue in Aspic has some decent songs book ended by two long, noisy and uneven pieces.  In the Wake of Poseidon has a few excellent moments, but only a few  (What the heck- "Cat Food?").  In the Court of the Crimson King- the acclaimed penultimate example of progressive rock- is either cacophonic or repetitive.  Or both.

Red, on the other hand, is a great album all around, as is The Power to Believe.  I just don't understand all the fuss over Captain Fripp's ship with his ever-changing crew.  Anybody else feel similarly?

Yes....Smile
Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson
