I think it's shaping up to be a UZ/Present type of day.

Damn, I keep forgetting to load Heresie on my iPod.  Bah.  Angry

6 grand, dang yo.
How much did your current one cost?

I'm using my school's one, which was made in West Germany about 40 years ago. It's a piece of crap. Bassoons can be up to $20,000.

West German made Bassoon, that's godly (well godly if we ignore the fact it apparently sucks lol).
All instruments can go from cheap to uber expensive though, I've seen 50 thousand (in US dollars as well) guitars, although the only people that buy them are lawyers that can't play guitar and just want one for looks.

I have all of Present's albums, except the last two.

Yet I've only heard the first two. LOL

The cheapest bassoon (which is a complete piece of crap) possible costs around $3,000 or $4,000. This is probably the reason why in band there are 1 million flautists and only a few bassoonists.

I almost which the same situation existed with guitars... at least you wouldn't have those retards that sit in guitar shops playing obnoxious painful renditions of Smoke On the Water again and again, and everyone that bought a guitar would buy one for the love of playing and not just to look cool, because they would be actually serious about playing if they invested several grand into their instrument.

I love that video. I wish I was in a bassoon quartet. Unfortunately, I'm not even sure if the other bassoonists at my school can play a 1-octave C major scale.
