Scalloped frets are pretty cool actually, regardless of what people tell you about them being useless or whatever.
People complain about notes going sharp while playing it... it's not the guitar, it's bad technique that causes that on a scalloped fretboard. I've played a Malmsteen signature model strat before, after about 5 minutes I could play it without fretting hand intonation problems. Fingers not contacting fretboard, helps you play faster from first hand experience, encourages you to develop great technique and allows for easy bending.

A guitar ain't a guitar if you can't play chords on it.

I don't think it was humor (or should I say humour) ..howdy James
y'know what I dug were those almost body-less guitars with the tuners on the bottom, Dave Gilmour played one in '88, just a neck and barely a body, very minimal and surprisingly decent tone

We need Ansen back. He told a hilarious story back in, I think it the SR 2. Still makes me laugh even 2 months later.

There were plenty more fun stuff in VR1, and maybe VR2.

Yeah, they made some nice guitars. I've never played one, but always wanted too though. They come well spec'd out and just have cool design features to them.
