Slipknot's in A#. I think Jim Root uses 13's.........that's ridiculously thick if playing in standard, I don't think I'd be able to play
The lower the tuning, the more br00tal

Slipknot isn't in A# you tool!
C# standard or sometimes bottom E dropped to B to make drop B. I don't like tuning down every string, I hate losing the higher range... hence why a 7 string pwns not only a 6 string, but a detuned 6 string too.

some of our stuff we drop down the C# to B..2 songs..so half of our songs .
But I remember seeing in Guitar One..or ultimate guitar forum that Slipknot's in A or A#, But you're right A# = B...same thing

They don't use A. I was just reading a guitar magazine about 2 hours ago with Slipknot in it, drop B for most of their stuff.
And lower tuning doesn't always=more br00tal.
I've heard stuff in E standard that can sound heavier than C standard. It's about the pick attack and amp settings my boy.

I was being funny, comeon Korn must tune the lowest of any band I've ever heard and they're far from br00tal

Heaps of bands are lower down than Korn. Any band that uses an 8 string would be lower.

Then switch it to Meshuggah, they're br00tal..they both use 8 strings. So maybe 8 string = br00tal

I've heard Meshuggah even tune the low F# down to E.. a whole octave lower than a normal low E on a 6 string If I got an 8 string, I'd learn their riffs... that sh*t seriously builds rhythm guitar muscle.

that's low, I still haven't really grown fond of them yet though, people tell me it grows on you, I have to listen to them again sometime.
They're probably excellent rythm guitarists

Not probably excellent... they are. Their rhythm technique is insanely good. It took me like 2 years to get into them. It happened eventually
