Damn, you guys listen to so much damn prog.

Other than PT, in the last few days, I've been going back to other stuff.

You say that like it's a bad thing. Wink

I can't stand listening to one genreamabob for so long.
There is only so much proggy stuff I can listen to before I feel like something else.

Yesterday, was some ChopinClap Goddamn that is freaking sweet piano.

Prog is so diverse that I could never get tired of it. Besides, it's not like I purposefully sit down and say "I want to listen to some prog", I just treat every artist completely differently. I don't see prog so much as a set sound but more so as an approach to making music.

I don't consider most of what's on P.A. prog in it's supposed sense.

I mean a band like Die Knodel, for instance are not prog.

Univers Zéro are not prog.
Alamaailman Vasarat are not prog.
Nucleus are not prog.
Maneige are not prog.
Most Peter Hammill albums are not prog.
Miles Davis is not prog

Henry Cow are prog though.

I'm interested in why you would consider these bands to be 'not prog'.

Seriously though, Ocarina is the greatest video game ever made. Ever.

Mario > Link

Any day. A plumber who has held about a million professions, can come back to life, and continuously kicks the ass of someone who is about 3 times his weight and size... I mean, come on. Not to mention everything he's done. Tongue

And yet he probably couldn't hold his own in a sword fight, we don't know how he'd do at target practice with bow and arrows, he doesn't get his own (magical) sword as well as a bunch of other items he probably couldn't carry, he wields no magic that I can think of, he's not blessed by, not one, but three god(ess)s, and bombs > fireballs anyway. Yeah, I think Link would kick Mario's ass. Actually, I'd really like to see someone finally come up with an answer to the Link v. Cloud fight. THAT would be an epic battle!Clap

I'm not going to argue with you over something so trivially stupid. LOL

Since Alex is a poor sportTongue, I want predictions from others right now. Pick one in a fight: Link or Cloud.

UZ = a chamber rock band with some progressive moments
AV = ethnic/klezmer/gypsy-folk band with a different approach
Nucleus = jazz fusion
Maneige = jazz fusion
pH = early albums are proggy, later albums are mostly him on piano and/or guitar, with some affects put in.  Excellent as it is, it's not prog completely.  Tracks such as A Louse is Not a Home is prog.
Miles Davis = jazz, jazz fusion, bop, bebop

I don't consider most jazz fusion to be prog, except for maybe the odd band like Quiet Sun.

I shall reword it.

Most bands and artists on P.A. are what I consider to be Progressive Rock (rather than just prog).

Where's the "rock" in Davis?  I mean, yes it's there but it's mostly jazz.

Isn't Solid Snake voiced by David Warner?

If so, that means Jon Irenicus is even better (I love David Warner's voice acting of Irenicus Big%20smile)
