Really great album, Jeff Wayne managed to blend two opposite genres from the late 70's, Prog' and Disco music, but he did it so well that even a Disco hater like me can love and appreciate the album. Agree with Easy Living about the shortened ve

The whole album is a bit of a musical 'fudge' to me.Not really that satisfying overall,good in places but ultimately I can live without it.

It was probably the first encounter I had with prog in any shape or form. My friend played it to me in 1978, and I loved it. I have a vinyl copy complete with the picture book, although its rather tatty now. I will no doubt get round to buying it in on

I agree that it's a fine album. However, I bought the box set back in 1980 and it contains a terrible, terrible, twelve inch disco re-mix of the main theme. If you find a copy if the disco re-mix, it should only be used as a last

Heh, I'm afraid I'm actually going to have to agree with Reed Lover. Let's just say I refuse to ever rate an album with a great deal of narraration any higher than a 2. I'd actually compare it to Wakeman's Journey to the Center of the Earth in
