that's not good, Debussy is my favorite composer (both regarding the listen, though perhaps I'm heavily more open to everything in this case, but especially to play his works)
|
A couple of moths ago, the lead articles and CD on BBC Music magazine were dedicated to Debussy, Satie and Impressionism in music...so I bought it and thought I'd give him another go (I first experimented with him when I was about 18, and have tried periodically since..)...10 listens...did nothing for me at all I'm afraid...
so, I'm back on Handel's Firework Music....

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

oh well... back to something the British people came close too, you mean...both Händel and Haydn travelled to London in their "shedding" years...

fair enough, Haydn travelled to London in his 'shedding years' as you put it...but I think we had George Frederick for a bit longer than that....
I think we need Mr Erg to arbitrate...

Uhm...I actually don't know that...but I was anyway locking on to the (Pre-)Classical period.

He was old enough to have entered any Grey Rooms without veto votes from existing members, anyway, in case there were such at that time...

Aggh! Pyramids! Pyramids!
This is the Shed for pity's sake - there's no room for pyramids in here!

No, but apparently there's plenty of squares.

One day I must make a video of my K.A. dance. Then you can all point and laugh.

Well here's tea anyway: first the boiled with a bit of milk one
Then for the rest:
Oh, the irish coffee too, in case Miss M. still wants
And the homemade (or ruinmade, de gustibus) biscuits (which, at least you can see, I haven't stick my finger in 'em)
I've also taken the liberty to put some Trio music by Schubert on the vinyl.
As for me, I'll just go with the daily heretic drink (that's gonna cut 10 years of my life, but I've long since forgotten to care)
Or perhaps some wine...hm...better not, I want to study with a clear head.

It's your first day doing this so I won't be too harsh Rico, but:
- The tea is about right, but I did specify a MUG, not a sissy cup and saucer
- They're scones, not biscuits - but as Jim pointed out, add clotted cream and strawberries and you'd get away with it.
If you were tea boy on a building site in England I dread to think what would have happened to you if you'd served that up !
