I didn't know you'd visited ReR's premises...

As a matter of interest, can you just walk into the premises at Thornton Heath?

Oh, if only... that'd be fun. Tongue  I am, however, engaged in making a scale model of it in my music room. Big%20smile  (In other words... more CDs are on their way to me! Embarrassed)

It's really quite bad... and you won't find it in any shops anywhere... I found it via a *cough*blog*cough* and I'm not sure if it's the fault of the original but recording is a bit on the poor side.

I'll sort something out for you. Wink

You won't thank me though. LOLEmbarrassed

No. I visited fairly regularly for a while when I was working in the general vicinity (including a brief spell at an asylum seeker's hostel about 5 minutes walk away). There's usually somebody around in the afternoons, and if you phone first they're usually happy to let you in to have a look around but it's the premises of a mail order company, not a shop. This means that, while they're happy to sell you CDs, you can't depend on them having change. Thornton Heath isn't the pleasantest part of South London (and it's got some impressive competition) and there isn't all that much to see inside (apart from boxes and boxes of impossibly obscure CDs, which may be something of an attraction I suppose). They previously had premises in Clapham (the Henry Cow office and shop) and Wandsworth Road, both of which were a tad more visitor friendly, followed by others that I was never able to visit. So there you have it.

Ah, thanks. Big%20smile

I believe the US ReR is a little better?

Hmm, maybe they should look in those boxes for my Zypressen CD... they list it on their website but when I ordered it, I was told it was out of stock. Cry

I'd prefer to call them a weird band who play Disco beats but with a Fuzz Bass.

So I'd be inclined not to call it Zeuhl at all. LOLEmbarrassed  I may have to listen to later and have a giggle. Embarrassed

I don't have boxes of CDs... just a coffee table stacked with CDs and CD racks that are supposed to be organised.

At least my MP3s are better organised. LOLEmbarrassed

This house is a complete tip!

Not at all.

I like their most recent one.  It's mostly their debut I'm not overwhelmed by.

Clap agreed - and an untidy desk is a sure sign of genius.

Hmmm, well I've heard both albums and they're excellent, especially the former.

I'd say Keith Tippett's later albums, such as Blueprints and his Centipede and Ovary Lodge projects are more avant-garde... not so much fusion though.

As for the latter, I'd have to give it another listen.
