In Rock is the best album by DP fo me, but for an era I vote for something less obvious.
Steve Morse is a fantastic guitarist, and Jon Lord is a keyboard legend, Purpendicular is pretty good hence my vote.

I understand what you mean, but the problem of this line-up has one name: ABANDON which represent 50% of their output, maybe the worst DP recording IMHO>

.....i enjoy more BANANAS and THE RAPTUREWink....with Morse in a DP line-up!

Mark II, then Mark III, then Mark I.

Mark II needs no explanations, I love Mark III too (great Stormbringer), and Mark I (prog one!)..would be perhaps be my most favourite one if only they were a bit less directionless.

The one that wrote Child in Time.

oh yeah, sorry about that...my english is not THAT good..

My favorite MK II(70's) album is Fireball, close behind Machine Head, then Who Do We Think We Are, Concerto.. and last In Rock. (not counting Made in Japan)

MK III & IV: lead by Come Taste the Band, second Stormbringer, Made in Europe and last Burn.

MK I: Book Of Taliesyn, then Deep Purple and last Shades.

MK II(reunion): Battle Rages On, House of Blue Light, Perfect Strangers.

MK V: I really like Slaves & Masters, even though, yes this one being commercial rock.

*clicks link*

So the entire "band name that is a complete sentence" phenomenon is not a recent fad! Shocked
