And what about your squeaky floorboards, Rach? I hear them squeak all the time, I have no idea what you're doing in there but it's rather noisy and offputting.

I saw Jim playing with a jar of rusty screws earlier on, down in the lean-to... I think Vicky had asked him to straighten the privvy door to keep it air-tight, as the aroma of his second hand Madras has been stripping the varnish off the furniture....

There's not much can be done for squeaky floorboards, maybe some candle wax or some lemon oil.........
And if Jim moves a hammond organ into the Shed the floorboards will surely give out altogether!
Worry! you boys are nowt but worry!

...would that include Vauxhall Carltons...?
my ageing motor is 18 this year, it's only done 115,000 so only half way through it's life.
i'm hoping, mot's and engine integrity allowing, it will reach it's 25th birthday in one piece and i won't have to pay road tax anymore. as a "classic" car i will be able to attend rallies and hire it out for weddings, though an Austin 7 might be more suitable..

Vicky had a 1968 Morris Minor for 5 years that was running absolutely 100% reliably (give or take the annual welding bill...) & I dare say I would have done so for longer, had one MOT not spotted a side-to-side crack in the sub-frame... great car, and it had that old-car-smell too

Would that be the Allegro that was recently voted the worst car of all time?

I'd agree with that observation:
note the cunning design that allowed it to be aerodynamic in reverse.
and the steering wheel that looked like it had already been in an accident
also available in an alluring shade of cack.

^ it never fails to amaze me the colours people pick for their cars. I was looking out of the window at a new Toyota in a rather unappealing shade of metallic mustard and asked myself (out-loud) what clown would deliberately pick a car that colour, where my boss just glared at me - it was his new car.

Anyone seen this?
Hmm, let me see. I'm going to Columbia so I'll take some white powder in a unmarked jar with me. It's only CoffeMate and nobody's going to think it's cocaine are they? And even if they do I'll be able to talk my way out of it.
How did this idiot get to be an MP?
On second thoughts, don't answer that.

I love the (typically English) quote:
"They started looking through our bags, and came across this container which was unmarked which contained this mysterious creamy, white powder, and they started shouting, 'cocaine, cocaine' or something that sounded like that in Spanish"
I wonder if they also shouted "Aaaiieeeeee! Caramba!"

Then, you'd have to wonder why anyone would think you'd be smuggling cocaine into Columbia.
