Hrh. I'm still sort of surprised (after hearing Moon In June and a Matching Mole album) that Wyatt takes lead vocals. I mean, his voice isn't instantly wowing, and I don't think it's quite quirky enough to offset that. It is quite endearing, and a couple of the songs I just wouldn't want sung by anyone else, but it's still a surprise.

I guess we like weird singersLOL, but each one our ownWink

you're right!

Although I seem to have taken a shining to that Giant who happens to be Gentle. I never cared for Octopus (a sin, I know), but Acquiring and Free Hand are simply great!

I don't know that album, so no comment there. Wink

If you like Robert Wyatt, i recommend it to you. he hasn't lost a step

I have only heard him on Rock Bottom and on the Wilde Flowers http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=32230&FID=51 and I hate to say this, but both sounded really "dated" to me.  I know that is kind of a weird thing to say on a site where the forum members, me included, mostly listen to music from the late 60's and early to mid-70's, but that is the impression that I carry with me after listening to those albums.  Both probably deserve new listens since it has been a while since I have listened to either of them.  I am really curious to hear his ComicOpera however since it is so highly spoke of within the forums.  How does the album that you are listening to compare with ComicOpera?

I do prefer this one CUCKOLAND to comicopera, but that's just me!Wink

Wilde Flowers for sure it's dated, this is from 1964-66 i thinkLOL

Do you know MOON IN JUNE,Heart Wyatts masterpiece from Soft Machine THIRD??

I sure prefer Cuckooland as well. My second favorite after the not-at-all-dated timeless masterpiece Rock Bottom. Try again and again, Rushfan. Aftter that, get Soft Machine 2, 3 & 4. Impossible to regret.

Not that fond of ComicOpera actually. Wilde Flowers doesn't really count.

Tiles, on the other hand, is a band that I definitely like.  Presents of Mind is an excellent heavy prog album.

For me:

Strange yet very good too. Big%20smile

Cutler and Denio... doing all sorts!  There's even some Aphex Twin style noises in this.
