Personally I think we should all generate power by burning Dream Theater CDs, there must be loads of 'em out there.

Wow!. Mind you, that could be useful on some mornings when a bright light might be too much for the old eyes after a night on the sauce. |
BBQ sauce? Tomato Sauce??? HP Sauce ??? Worcestershire sauce???
Yeah it starts off like a dim night-light and takes 3- 5mins to reach proper brightness....... rubbish really!

You guys must be using different energy savers than I do - admittedly, I do have some which look like small florescent tubes, but most of the ones we use look like normal light bulbs, only fatter; these don't seem to have any real dimness issues at all; which is more than can be said of me occasionally:

Exactly like my thought processes.

Sad as it is, I've been getting back into DT recently; just bought 'Octavarium' which apart from the obligatory lighters in the air ballard (LaBrie being sensitive - bleagh!!) is actually quite good (just don't tell any of the Suedettes I said that )

Sorry Jim, the walls have ears... I seriously wouldn't bother with Systematic Chaos though. And this comes from a 16+ year fan of the band.

Excellent - you've been a fan for longer than most of their fans have been alive ; you must remember them in their pooched out hairdo & spandex phase
[edit]
And Derek Sherinian used proper keyboards, not some trumped up computer programmable midi whizz bang effort behind which he looks like a ...
this is what a prog rock keyboard player should look like:
That's the kind of keyboard setup Shed owners aspire to!

Welcome Dude! would you like a rug for your knees? A warm drink and a biscuit maybe?
I saw DT at the Marquee in 89? 90? I can't remember............ never been a big DT fan though, it's always been "boys music" to my ears! Maybe harking back from college days where all the boys in my house were engineering students and all loved DT
I don't go back quite as far as some of the greys, but am a child of forbidden nights at The Marquee from about 1985 when Prog ruled the old place!

Magnum, The Enid, Solstice, Pallas, Twelfth Night, Here & Now, and a youthful band whose name I forget...

There's nothing like standing in a packed sweaty black painted basement, trying not to spill your beer, whilst jumping up & down singing along to 'Kingdom Of Madness', then staggering to your mate's Ford Capri, blearily thanking him for driving, then falling asleep in the back seat with your ears ringing from the eardrum splitting volume of Magnum at full pelt...
...that's proper memories, that is.

Does anyone have any stories of Hatfield or National Health gigs? Those would be particularly droolworthy.
