       Why not to relate bands like Bugdie , to Progarchieves . In the early 70's , Budgie was active as a good band , in the rock mania during the 70's . their first album , Squack , in for the kill & never turn your back , was excellent works  between  1971 & 1975 , I recommand that Budgie , as an excellent  productive rock band ,  can be related to the category of progressive hard rock ...........................  Tracks Toni

          I believe that you didn't read my remark Cacho , But i  would appreciate that you tell me , Why  all these good bands aren't mentioned in progarchieves , Robin Trower , Machiavel , alice cooper , Budgie ,  Hillage , and hundreds other productive bands  since the early 70's , and please i want to know by which
opinion or authority you make the classification of bands . Why Iron Maiden or Black Sabbath , but not Budgie or Robin Trower .  Why Gong , but not Steve Hillage  .  Why Jean - Luc - Ponty but not Rabih Abou Khalil ...........................................................       Why    Bad Company but not  FREE ?????????????

As an Admin I don't normally comment on Prog Related suggestions, but only read the for and against comments by others.

Budgie were evaluated for Heavy Prog and rejected, the band themselves have always maintained they are not a Progressive Band. Prog Related is valid alternative in both musical terms and perhaps in context to the era in which they performed (they vertainly appealed to prog fans at the time) you could also argue that their influence on NWOBHM (and therefore Progressive Metal) also makes them viable.
 
Can't go along with the Roger Dean cover-art point of view though, as good as it was, it doesn't make it  related to Prog in itself Wink

Bad Company are not in the Archives, neither are Free - they were not Progressive Rock artists.
 
Robin Trower is considered Blues Rock after leaving Procal Harum with little or no Progressive inclinations, if you think different please give examples.
 
In the 1970s Alice Cooper (the band) was Art Rock - Some Art Rock is Progressive Rock, some is not, the two genres did over-lap, but there were Art Rock artists that did not produce Progressive Rock music. Again, for Alice Cooper, if you think they were Progressive Art Rock, please give examples.

   no matter what is your opinion regarding Budgie , even if  the group said we're not progressive band , simply i don't care , they're in my opinion PROGRESSIVE HARD ROCK , regardless , i respect all your opinions about music , i have no idea about your age , i simply know from where you are , still these details are not very important , but some people in your forums are trying to ONLY  disrespect other people's opinion .      re your answer Dean -   Rabih abou Khalil , Steve Hillage , Machiavel & Flairck are here because of me , i insisted on Rabih & Flairck & Steve , so don't tell me they're here . my reviews about these bands are still there , but thanks anyway for respecting my wish . about trower , bridge of sights is the most  progressive
album in the 70's , half of proggers knows that , so give it another shot in your record player and tell me later .
 and Alice Cooper  has only one Progressive album , which is Killer , i can't insist on him in this case , so thanks again for replying to my post  Dean , And believe me i love this site from the bottom of my heart , as a single man i feel that this site is my wife , so , believe it or not !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  yur friend Toni

    Dean , MY FRIEND , i join progarchives at the beginning of 2008 , Rabih abou Khalil , Flairck and Steve Hillage wasn't available in Progarchives , i've checked many times before posting my reviews regarding these bands , and believe me my friend , i have a very good memory about things i love , still , sorry forget about the all matter , it's not worth it anymore , i voted with Budgie in the right forum . Hoping that in the next few days i'll do the Same for Robin Trower , they really deserve to be a part of our main target ///////   Tracks Toni

''Every fan of Gong (especially the "Angel's Egg" and "You" period) should own this album. The glorious Gong rhythm section is still in tow; Tim Blake (the synth guy) is still here making all those wonderful bubbly trippy noises, and Hillage's echo-obsessed guitar excursions are particularly satisfying. Overall, Fish Rising has a magical atmosphere and consistent level of effectiveness that Gong albums could never quite convince me of (I blame Daevid Allen). The opening track, for instance, is 17 minutes long and eventually builds into the most furious space-jam you will ever hear in your life -- the climax (you'll know it when you hear it) is one of those moments that makes you feel like your head is going to explode! The rest of the album is equally fine, featuring blissed out instrumental passages and unhealthy amounts of echo. I love quite a few of Hillage's solo albums, but this first one may just be the best -- check it out!''
