As Micky once told me, you don't really become fully initiated to the forums until you have a post removed for inappropriate content.
Sorry Dean, don't mean to encourage additional work for the Admins.

To darqDean (or anyone else) - you say find out how to post pictures. I've tried hard hard but I just can't figure it
Please - how do you do it? |

Here's a thread: How Do I post Pictures?
And let me quote one of our admin's post from that thread:

Another post from that thread showing one more way to post a picture:

It's really dangerous to let folks know how to link to pictures. I am a prime example.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Thanks folks for the advice!
Now I've managed that - how do I do that thing where I include comments from previous posts so I can discuss them better? Trouble is - I think that's a little dangerous (taking things out of context and all that!) |

You just hit the [ Quote] button at the top of the post and edit away. The forum is driven by BBcode, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BBCode), so if you want to split up a quote you have to insert your own code to to that Edited by darqDean - June 20 2008 at 16:28 |

don't delete all the extra text (all the stuff in square brackets is needed!)
it should look like this, but with [ ] instead of ( )
(QUOTE=PinkPangolin) (QUOTE=darqDean)
You just hit the [ Quote] button at the top of the post and edit away.
(/QUOTE) Like this? Thanks Dean - you've come up turnips again! (/QUOTE) ...whatever is between QUOTE & /QUOTE is the quoted text - your relpy goes outside that. Edited by darqDean - June 20 2008 at 18:55 |

Here's another try then - still dangerous how you change someone's else's wording - oh wait - that might be quite fun... |

^ that's the way
Incidentally - you should NEVER change someone else's wording (unless you make it obvious and it's for comedic effect) - the purpose of quoting is to carry-on a discourse in a thread that has multiple discussions going-on, or to single-out specific points to comment upon. Changing what people have written to make them look bad or stupid or to alter the meanig will be dealt with swiftly and punitively.

What's happened to my thread - it seems to have gone below the belt!
Anyway - I seem to have been uprated to Senior Member now - having cleared 100 posts (they weren't all pointless - honest!) I'm surprised it was only 100 (thought it would be a lot more than that, but I'm not knocking it). I guess some of you are thinking - what? HE doesn't deserve that.... Thanks for all your help from you chaps above. Trouble this - this thread doesn't make any sense now, because I note that on all my posts I have been uprated to Senior member. I mean - eh? Why is this senior guy moaning about being a "Noobie?" Pinky |
