I wish I was young again... I was fit back then as well. Plus I actually had a purpose of sorts. Best of all, I had motivation. Where did it all go wrong?

Yeah, I've gotten that before... too often lately.
Extreme (or true, whatever you want to call it) love can be incredibly difficult, even if the person does feel the same way. Emotions are completely rampant and they'll drive you absolutely insane with pretty much every feeling possible. Sometimes the emotions can bring the most beautiful and satisfying feelings that you've ever felt; likewise, they can be some of the most unsatisfying.
The sheer potential intensity of it is amazing, IMO.
How long have you two been talking now, out of curiosity?

Well maybe two months or so now, I'd say, so hardly anything. We've actually only met 4 times so far... and that's not from me not wanting to meet her... it's complicated, trust me.
But despite such few meetings (she's only 30 minutes away in the car, which is nothing at all!), we chat everyday online... either via MySpace or mostly on MSN Messenger.
We're just friends... close friends though but she says she loves me, a lot... but she's also made it clear she just wants to be close friends, so it's making my brain fry a little. I do truly believe she does genuinely love me but 'cause her exes haven't been the best examples of boyfriends, then she wasn't as fussed about breaking their hearts if they split up. However, 'cause we get on well and I care for her like nobody else has cared for her for years, then she doesn't want to lose the friendship. Which is perfectly understandable and which I agree with.
Friends is perhaps the best thing... if things develop, they develop.

Definitely sounds like you're in a complicated yet fortunate situation. From the sound of it something probably will develop... but it's great that you two have even become friends. Two months may not sound like long to most people to get to know someone, but it can be a good amount of time (depending on the people, of course). The person I'm head over heels with I've only been talking to a bit over a month. Glad to hear it though (mostly). At the same time, love can be your biggest satisfaction and quite an annoyance.
