Nothing pwns Man-erg, not even Rattims Friezz. Wink

That was fail on your part. Big%20smile

In fact, Man-erg is my favourite song of all time by any artist of any genre.

Yeah, if it was 1997, then it was most likely AoE 1.

Also, Age of Kings wasn't Stone Age. Wink

Did you mention that? Whoops. Embarrassed

I must have glanced over that. I don't own AoE 1 formally, though I have seen it and read about it (and played it once LONG ago), so I wasn't sure if that game had an exact similar history layout or not.

I'm not the most hardcore gamer (I do game though), but I know a decent amount about AoE especially, and I believe AoE II is definitely the best version. The best thing to do is to get the double pack with AoE II: Age of Kings and then AoE II: Conquerors Expansion. I always use the Conquerors Expansion b/c it's the same thing as Age of Kings except it has 5 more civilizations and completely different 1-player missions and modes.

AoE III is good too, but it's not near as classic, IMO. I've found that most people I've talked to agree with me there as well.

And, the compatibility seems to work fine. I even use it on my Vista laptop. Wink

Excellent. Big%20smile

I'm not a huge gamer either... I get so far into games and then stop playing them... it's not due to lack of interest either, strangely.  I'm still getting itchy feet to finish off Neverwinter Nights 2 but I keep stopping myself. Embarrassed

I had an urge to play Starcraft again too last night... but again, I stopped myself. LOL

Buying games isn't my thing really... I officially own Oblivion and Neverwinter Nights, Neverwinter Nights 2 and expansions but a lot of games I don't officially own... 'cause I lose interest in them.  I'd rather save my money for music. Big%20smile

Besides, I like a lot of older games that are difficult to find.

I also need to get a proper version of Civilisation III.  I used to play FreeCiv a lot but the graphics were a bit meh... they may have improved now though.  So I may check out the original version.

The main games I game on the PC are Age of Empires II and Halo: Combat Evolved. Other than that, I'm a Nintendo fanboy. Embarrassed

Mainly because I was grown up on having the old NES and SNES though from my father... My N64 raised me when I was really young though, since I was young when that had its heyday. Wink

I'll usually finish games I really get into, but often I take long breaks if I get really stuck. I'll keep stopping myself from playing the game every time I'm about to for quite a while... then one day I'll give it a go and then I'll most likely beat it.

I save most of my money for music as well, but my brother and I have gotten quite a bit of Christmas presents over the years in the form of Nintendo consoles/games, so that's usually how I managed to acquire them.

I don't know as much about Civilisation III, but from what I've heard/read.. since you enjoyed it, you definitely should look into that. But... like you said, music just comes up as more important every time. LOL

Do all versions have this history or was it one particular version?

This would have been about 1998 or so... I think it was AoE II: Rise of Rome

AoE II: Age of Kings and Conquerors Expansion had quite a good amount of information about their respective civilizations, but I don't know if that's what you meant.

I'm pretty sure this was just a demo... we had a network at College and always played a downloaded AoE instead of working. LOLEmbarrassed

I know I'm weird but I enjoyed reading about all those civilisations. Embarrassed

I may find a "copy" of AoE II.  Would people agree it's the best version?  Also, what's its compatibility with XP like, being as it's quite old now?  I've never played AoE III.

I love A Plague of Lighthouse Keepers and the difference between my previous list is quite miniscule.

Man-erg = epic win
Lemmings = took me a long while to appreciate but I "get it" now and besides, Hammill's "weeeeeeeeeee" makes me crack up every time, it's comic genius!
A Plague of Lighthouse Keepers = stunning composition but I don't know... maybe it's the length, maybe it's something else... I cannot put my finger on it... but it's just not quite as epic as the other two tracks.  Still 5/5 of course, as I said, the difference is tiny and I love it almost as much as the other two

Lemmings is my favorite, and I liked it once I heard it first time. Gotta love that über-RIO "Cogs" sectionBig%20smile

Man-Erg is stunning. I absolutely love the climax at the end. Another one of their best!

Plague is awesome as well, although a bit uneven, but the great parts are REALLY great. Up to pair with Man-Erg. Easily!

Man-erg gets the nod over Lemmings (featuring Cog)

That intro... ooooooh that intro! Heart

I have to agree; Man-Erg is amazing throughout. It's one of the few VDGG tracks I absolutely love. Big%20smile

No worries, our musical tastes don't appear to have good correlation, so expect to often disagree with my opinions.

With me, it's not that it loses my attention, it doesn't.  Every second engrosses me. Big%20smile

It's just there's something that makes it not quite as epic as the other two amazing tracks.
