Exactly
I remember when I first discovered this site, Fusion, Canterbury and RIO where lumped into one section in the archives back then. I was checking out some free mp3's, mainly for fusion bands, but downloaded one Univers Zero track and one Thinking Plague track. I just thought to myself "what the f**k's kind of Fusion is this?"

Technical Progressive Death Metal. Their earliest stuff was very much deathcore orientated but they progressed into a full blown tech death metal band with some occasional quirky experimental bits. I still suspect you wont like it.

Well I like Agalloch and Opeth but I know they sound nothing like them. They sound like a noodly guitar metal band, by your description. Still, they can't be as bad as Pig Destroyer.

Actually, BTBAM are not lead guitar focused at all.
In fact, everytime I hear them, I always think it's weird how restrained they are in that aspect.
Their technicality actually comes from their riffs, and complicated rhythms for the most part part. And considering BTBAM is a prog metal band, they have a lot more diversity in their sound compared to a straight death band like Pig Destroyer.
