A drummer's advice there - I hoped MP07 would answer this!
Now for a non-drummer's advice.
1. 'Retrospektïw I-II', most especially 'Theusz Hamtaahk'.
Magnificent live album, and a really wonderful overall sound - you'll
be able to hear the drumming very clearly.
2. The eternal classic 'Live/Hhaï' is also wonderful, and the sublime 'Mëkanïk Zaïn' should fit the bill nicely.
3. 'K.A.' is thrice wonderful

, and the production is
excellent - you can hear every drumbeat and it's got this 'live in the studio' feel - as if the band is right there in front of you.
4. 'Attahk' may not be 'classic Magma' but it is a lot of fun, and it
has some absolutely fantastic drumming! The drum sound is ace on this
album - really bold and in your face!
5. I really don't know what to pick for choice number 5. There is too
much to choose from... but I think I'll plump for 'De Futura' - as
mentioned above, this is from 'Üdü Wüdü', but you really must check out
the INSANE 'De Futura' live clip on Youtube (or in fact I think you can
see it via Magma's entry on PA). Your friend could learn a thing or
two from that, I daresay...
Enjoy!
