Coincidentally, I am actually listening to Rush at the moment.

^ good call on 2112. Not often do I walk into the Suede Room and see nice things being said about Rush.
Anyhow, I'm listening to Caravan's The Show of Our Life, and "For Richard" is an absolutely stunning song.

Actually, there's quite a few Rush fans in here - Rob, Alex (both of them), Linus, and myself. I think YesFan72 is a fan as well.

I'm a Rush fan?! Other Rob, perhaps? -- I LOVE Caress Of Steel, consider 2112, AFTK and Permanent Waves all four-star-worthy, but the rest is 3ish.

My observations have been that most positive Rush comments that I see usually get shot down pretty snarkly by the RIO-ites that tend to do that kind of think.

BTW, I'm not quite sure what "snarkly" means, but it sounded like the right word that I was looking for.

Depends on "fan", but your description above at least indicates you like them.

It's mostly James being silly - and it's fun to engage in a little hyperbole in here; in the "main" forums you always have to tread lightly and be a bit more sensitive. Although to be honest, I've seen more vicious treatment of Rush there than anything I've ever read in here.

I've worked out what 2112 is about:
It's quite obviously about a game of Badminton.

I forgot to mention earlier, but I think Moving Pictures has more CDs than anybody else here, which is quite an accomplishment. :P

"conservative" companies are a pain in the ass. There is no way I'm cutting my hair, wearing a pressed white shirt and tie for a minimum wage job.

What's minimum wage in CA? Probably pretty good. Uniforms and hair police suck though, enjoy the drug tests too. ;)

Perhaps, if he said he had over 2000 CDs I could easily believe it. When I'm out of school, working a "real job" I'm totally living in a shack and buying tons of music. :P
