The last track on Elixirs you'll enjoy!  It's relentless and barbaric.

Anyhow, I've just heard Elixirs and King Lindorm (the aforesaid final track) is outstanding.  The other tracks will need further listens, 'cause they sound different to the Guapo I know and love but they still were excellent.

I think I may prefer Elixirs to Jannick Top's Infernal Machina currently.  Time will tell, I guess.

I do rather like the idea of a duel between Guapo and Magma, although my money's on Vander.

Yes, yes, yes - that is my favourite part of 'Black Oni'.   As soon as I heard that piano intro... well, that's when I decided I really like Guapo.   Further on, when the bass get going - and the repetitive, relentless drumming - now that's Zeuhl!   (More so than 'Five Suns', to my mind...)

Yep.

The intro starts off slow and it just builds to complete and utter madness.   I was literally unable to sit still to it.

So far, I'd say Black Oni was their pinnacle... I need to hear their new one more though, as I've only played it the once.

The great thing I like about Guapo is that every album is different from the previous one, yet they still sound just like Guapo!

Oh and each album is excellent too.

I don't tend to listen to music when reading, to be honest.  I find the music distracts me from taking in the words fully.  It rarely happens the other way around, where the words distract from listening to music.

I also find I can remember music but not lyrics, if I read whilst listening.  That includes browsing the Internet whilst listening to music.

That is also why I don't listen to enough music... I don't like just listening to music whilst not doing anything else and I cannot listen to music all the time whilst doing things such as reading.

However, listening to music whilst driving always seems to work for me... it's just I don't have a CD player that works properly and some annoying has snapped off my aerial, so I cannot even listen to the radio now!

I think I've already said that I consider Black Oni a better soundtrack than GYBE!'s song that was used in 28 Days Later.  Imagine that scene with Black Oni Part III over it instead... it's even better!

Personal preference, of course.

And call me ignorant... but how is Oni pronounced?

After a very promising (maybe even fantastic) start it turns more and more idiotic. I wish I left after the first genuinely atmospheric and scary 30-40 minutes or so. I reccomend you do it.
