1. King Crimson - Starless
2. Absoluuttinen Nollapiste - Suvannossa Ylpeä Ilme
3. Sigur Rós - Untitled #8
4.
Metallica - The Outlaw Torn
5. R.E.M. - Diminished
6. Yes - Awaken
7. NOFX - Seeing Double at the Triple Rock
8. Dream Theater - A Change of Seasons
9. Roger Waters - It's a Miracle
10. Radiohead - Paranoid Android

11. Mew - Eight Flew Over, One Was Destroyed
12. Opeth - The Drapery Falls
13. Mastodon - The Wolf Is Loose
14. Talk Talk - Renée
15. Yes - Close to the Edge
16. Sigur Rós - Untitled #7
17. Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms

-I haven't decided yet if the definitive version of this song is the original studio version or the live version on On the Night.
18. Pink Floyd - Shine on You Crazy Diamond
19. Alice in Chains - Down in a Hole

-The original studio version is a great song, but nothing compared to the stunning unplugged rendition with the interplay of voices by the healthy and vigorous Jerry Cantrell and the mangled-by-drugs Layne Staley.
20. System of a Down - Lost in Hollywood

21. Camel - Straight to my Heart
22. Talk Talk - I Don't Believe in You
23. System of a Down - Violent Pornography
24. Rush - Mystic Rhythms
25. Radiohead - Exit Music (for a film)
26. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Venice Queen
-Again a great song in studio setting, but shadowed by the version they do on Live at the Slane Castle dvd. John Frusciante Heart.
27. Van der Graaf Generator - Arrow
28. R.E.M. - Leave
29. Overhead - Lost Inside
30. Mogwai - Glasgow Mega-Snake

31. Dream Theater - Space-Dye Vest
32. Sigur Rós - Viðrar vel til loftárasa
33. Pink Floyd - Echoes
34. Camel - Rhayader
35. Dire Straits - Tunnel of Love
36. Tool - Push*t
37. King Crimson - The Night Watch
38. Mark Knopfler - Sailing to Philadelphia
39. Queen - The Show Must Go on
-I guess I gotta buy Innuendo 'cause I don't own this song. The lead vocal is a one take demo recording and the man was dying of AIDS. That's pro right there.
40. Green Day - Letterbomb

41. Opeth - Deliverance
42. King Crimson - 21st Century Schizoid Man
43. Sleater-Kinney - The Remainder
44. Camel - Nimrodel/The Procession/The White Rider
45. NOFX - It's My Job to Keep Punk Rock Elite
46. Rush - Subdivisions
47. Opeth - A Fair Judgement
48. System of a Down - Dreaming
49. Michael Jackson - Earth Song
50. Iron Maiden - Lord of Light

51. Sigur Rós - Svefn-g-englar
52. Metallica - One
53. Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb

-One of those occasions when the studio version gets the sh*t kicked out of it by a certain live reading. The PULSE version is far superior with better vocals, sound and possibly the best guitar solo ever recorded.
54. Guns n' Roses - Civil War
55. Green Day - Basket Case
56. R.E.M. - Walk Unafraid
57. Rush - Xanadu
58. Camel - Lady Fantasy
59. Metallica - Master of Puppets
60. Manic Street Preachers - The Masses Against the Classes

61. Dire Straits - Telegraph Road
62. Foo Fighters - Everlong
63. Sleater-Kinney - Night Light

-This belongs together with its preceding track Let's Call it Love. After the five minute improvisational chaos closing the previous track, Night Light feels like the moment when you finally get to your soft bed under the blankets after an exhausting day.
64. Talk Talk - Happiness Is Easy
65. The Smiths - There Is a Light that Never Goes Out
66. Morrissey - Irish Blood, English Heart
67. Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit
68. R.E.M. - Nightswimming
69. Camel - Lawrence
70. The Beatles - Blackbird

71. Iron Maiden - Stranger in a Strange Land
72. Sleater-Kinney - The Fox
73. R.E.M. - At My Most Beautiful
74. Alice in Chains - We Die Young
-This time the studio version loses the race not to a live, but the demo version. Slight sound problems don't matter when the demo offers superior vocals and a faster tempo.
75. Absoluuttinen Nollapiste - Pyhä Nynny
76. System of a Down - Chop Suey!
77. The Dillinger Escape Plan with Mike Patton - When Good Dogs Do Bad Things
78. Tool - Ænema
79. Overhead - Metaepitome
80. Liekki - Sinun Luona Kerran

81. Opeth - The Baying of the Hounds
82. Sleater-Kinney - Jumpers
83. NOFX - American Errorist (I Hate Hate Haters)
84. Dire Straits - Romeo and Juliet

-On the Night live version reigns over the studio one.
85. King Crimson - Trio
86. Dream Theater - Blind Faith
87. t.A.T.u. - All About Us
88. Rush - Losing It
89. The Offspring - Bad Habit
90. System of a Down - Aerials

91. Opeth - Godhead's Lament
92. Dire Straits - Private Investigations

-And here too.
93. Metallica - Creeping Death
94. King Crimson - In the Wake of Poseidon
95. Duran Duran - A View to a Kill
96. Tool - The Third Eye
97. CMX - Kuoleman Risteyksestä Kolme Virstaa Pohjoiseen
98. Camel - Song Within a Song
99. Manic Street Preachers - A Design for Life
100. Overhead - Dawn

I didn't think I'd see the Manic Street Preachers get mentioned here. I grew up with "The Holy Bible" as my favourite album and even now I like far more stupid music I still have time for that particular CD =)

^Found That Soul from Know Your Enemy was VERY close to getting on the list too Smile Now that I was listening to A Design for Life, I thought it might belong some dozen places higher on the list, but then I listened to the next ones and realized that they are all pretty damn great songs, so I'll just leave this like it is.

Thank you for your kind words Embarrassed

Alright I'll get going now.

I don't know if anyone plans on undertaking a list of 500 yet, but I may be the first.

Mine turned out to be 440, and I had spent enough time on it already so I didn't bother adding 60 more.

Mine will be 100 and it will be completely arbitrary.  In other words, I will hate it as soon as I finish.  If I finish.
