What, leave my secluded hermitage for the exotic climes of Wolverhampton?! Maybe... |

Well Bilston is closer to you than London.
Bilston and London are about the same distance from me. Anyhow... I may convince Kim to go with me yet. |

I think London is easier to get to in many ways! Besides, yes, you should ask Kim to go! |

Why don't any of these bands come to Australia? I'm going to start my own RIO/Avant movement down under, and only take my festivals to places nobody visits. Europe will get nothing, NOTHING!

About 90 per cent of the way through the 25 minutes of La Faulx.
I really really, like it, much more than I imagined I would |

Hey, I just wanted to let everyone on the team I've stepped down. I will not go into any lenthy explanations, but hopefully I'll still pop my head from time to time. At the moment my lifestyle isn't allowing me to spend time meandering around these terrible slow forums. Take care, Adam

That's understandable, Adam. The position will always be open in the future. Good luck next week too. |

Seconded. Although they're quite challenging to listen to, Crashing Icons is an incredibly rewarding release. Pip Pyle's on the drums, btw

btw folks, been checking out this band Macromassa that was recommended to the ZART team & they're really, really good. The last disk i was listening to, Lo Hecho Pérez, had very definite Residents overtones...check them out. Esp. the these two:
Lo Hecho Pérez & Um-Yu
Lo Hecho Pérez is the best imo, the others have tracks that don't quite reach that creative edge as consistently - flavours of the [90s] times - techno-y, trip-hop ish presently...but the great stuff is there too.
ok, cross Puerta Heliogabal off the list [w/ RIO ish flavour - it ain't there..it's still good, but...[reminding me of the Art of Noise a bit, tech, elec., etc] Edited by listennow801 - August 03 2008 at 18:22 |

You can listen to one of the songs here. Im sure you'll love it, but be in mind that it's the most accessible track on it

Absolute Zero do indeed rock. The last track is very cool actually.
Anyhow, this post is to announce that I have posted an interview up with Jarno Sarkula, saxophonist of Alamaailman Vasarat and formerly bassist of the brilliant Hoyry-kone. You can find it in the Interviews section. Enjoy the read! |

STROM.ec - Divine Legions Beyond Psyche
The most brainsick, impossibly disenchantening, and dark album of the year is this? Yes, it is. It's the pinnacle of industrial music, and I thought you guys might appreciate it. There's a song and video from this album on their myspace. Those should be the deciding factors as to whether or not this is something you might enjoy. Better description: "With their fifth full length CD, Finland’s STROM.ec continue to further explore the far regions of power electronics, challenging the confines and stretching the boundary of the genre, sculpting new and innovative creations that are uniquely their own. Having been under construction for over seven years, Divine Legions shows STROM.ec with a majestic control of their craft, offering 8 tracks (including one 21 minute epic to close the CD out!) of powerful and explosive industrial music, full of volatile frequencies, brain bending, enigmatic atmospheres, hallucinatory noise, and the trademark vocal assault that few acts can rival. Presented in a luxurious 8-panel DVDigipak, designed by Jerome Nougaillon, Divine Legions Beyond Psyche represents STROM.ec at their finest, most creative form, having reached a pinnacle in an already illustrious discography..."
