The cover should just be Petrucci flexing.

I agree 100%. The summer Jones Beach show highlight for me was ITPOE (in it's entirety) and for the spring Terminal 5 show..I'd have to say Repentance with Mikael Clap

It's all the guitar books he eats.

I must say, as much as a disspointment their records have  been lately, they always deliver live.

Are there any news of a high-definition release? That would be quite interesting.

Well if you have no luck there, you can always order it online.

The production of the DVD is definitely not anywhere near Budokan or Score, but the setlist is obviously fantastic and makes it essential for a fan.

ITPOE, Take the Time < That makes it worth buying alone. And as previously stated, who doesn't love watching the interesting, and generally funny documentaries over and over?

For the Scenes DVD, [around where we live] Target has it online but not in store, Best Buy has it online but not in store, and FYE has it on their webstie but im not sure if its in their store. Looks like its online for me.

Anyone pre-order the 5 disc yet? There's only 3,000 pressed..it's just the 2 disc DVD and 3 discs of the audio from the live set...I haven't got the money being that it's $35 and I know I'll regret not getting it eventually.

Anyway here's the link for anyone interested:

for a band that doesnt improvise much (and can if they wanted to) they sure release a lot of live albums (cause you know there will be a CD version as well)

if they had some level of improvisation in their shows more often, i can understand. But just because it's a new tour and you have new songs, doesnt mean you have to make a live album. Because most of the songs are pretty much played the same live anyway.

"But they do a medley. you cant find that on a studio album"

who cares. they should just play Octavarium in full and not tease it. It's too good a song. Same with Learning to Live.

Sure they change set lists, but so what? So does Iron Maiden. And they release a lot of live albums that are mostly unnecesary.

in case you couldnt tell, i probably wont get this album. i wasnt even a big fan of Sytematic Chaos. They went in the wrong direction with that album IMO

Unfortunately I agree... More improvisation, jamming and different versions of the songs would increase significantly the interest level of the DVD/CD release Confused

^ If the DVD/CD sales were poor for the live stuff then they would probably stop releasing them..but some people like myself buy each DVD from every tour, plus MP tries to change the setlist every DVD, some songs will be on 2 but, who cares. Also, a new documentary.

Score went Platinum..so why not release a new DVD?

oh i understand why they keep releasing live albums. obviously if they sell well, why stop? and having changing set lists and having bonus features like the documentary are cool and all, but for art's sake, wouldnt they think to add AT LEAST a couple of jams or different versions (Budokan did this), so that we have more DT music you cant find anywhere else? i know a lot of people here agree with me.

Im not saying it'll be a bad live album, and that no one should buy it. by all means do what you want with your money. im also not saying DT should become a jam band or go jazz-fusion (though DT going in the direction of jazz fusion is not the most unlikely thing that they could do)

im just sayin, it's not worth it every other year opposite when a new DT studio album comes out.

I see what you're saying, it would be pretty cool, but I'll still buy every DVD they release probably.
