Trust me, you'll love it.  Very original sound for chamber prog.   Kerman plays on drums for it.  Very well composed and better than Far Corner and NeBeLNeST.

Isn't it middle-eastern sounding?  Or maybe I'm just assuming that because of the band name, but I listened to samples a while ago and I hope time hasn't distorted my memory too much.

Kind of... musical ADD.   Imagine about three different weird dreams flashing through your mind all at once, at least one of them involving kitchen implements being abused horribly and French people shouting at you.

Also, the sound of the recording is not 1970s-sounding at all.  Has a precise, analytical, crisp feel.  Does that make sense??!!

Depends on the price (obviously).  I was able to pick up this compilation for $50; one wonders if you wouldn't spend more than that trying to acquire the albums separately.  Maybe you found a better source for them then I did, though.  I love compilations that include full albums, though, it can be such a great value - for example I spent $30 on the National Health Complete, where I'm pretty sure I couldn't have acquired the albums separately for $10/ea. (or even the first two for $15/ea.).

edit:  of course, another consideration is if you enjoy having the proper separate physical albums/CDs (for instance, this Area box randomizes song order across the 3 CDs instead of going album by album)...doesn't bother me that I don't, but I could see how others might feel differently.

The thing is, Phil Collins was the background music, not Univers Zero.
