Topic: Peter Gabriel Big Blue Ball Posted: July 20 2008 at 16:11 |
I've been listening to Gabriel's Big Blue Ball album recently, and want to know what you guys think about it. I really like it, especially the songs that he wrote or performed himself. I really think that he just gets better and better as a songwriter (I love 'Down to Earth', the song that he made for the film Wall-E as well!) I don't like the song Jijy, but other than that I think the album is really good. So what do you guys think?

For all the hype that went with, it didn't move me that much. His stuff was definitely the pick of it though.

Great album, certainly a grower. I also think that Karl Wallinger who co-collaborated the album is hugely underrated and it is also his creative input that ensured this album finally got released.
Very much a new world feel but great songs with PG, Joseph Arthur, Karl Wallinger and the rest giving it their all. Enjoying it!

I don't know about the album, but I heard "Whole Thing" on the radio the other night, and just downloaded it (oops). I'm going to buy it next chance I get. I swear I must have listened to it 15 times today. It's just addicting!
Me and bunch of local music friends are actually getting together to do a Big Blue Ball type thing, hopefully it won't take us 15 years to release any material.

He's got big blue balls, no trouble at all.
I thought Jijy was OK.

I wasn't very impressed by it but I kinda liked Gabriel stuff on the album, I didn't care that much about the rest. I love the Down to earth song though.

Man, one would really raise an eyebrow over the title of this thread. I haven't heard that much about it, but didn't somebody say it's got a ton of other artists doing their own material? E

I listened to it once and I was very dissapointed. I didn't read the credits so I was left with the impression that there is no Peter Gabriel music on that record.
