Hmmm... the list presented by Finn above shows only bands/albums of the 70s. Don't the Italians themselves trust their new acts? Confused

I'd include amid them the following:

- CAP - Nei Gorghi Del Tempo (1992)
- Malibran - The Wood Of Tales (1990) vocals in English Embarrassed
- Nuova Era - Il Passo Del Soldato (1995)
- Cooperativa Del Latte - Il Risveglio (1998)
- Il Castello Di Atlante - Comme Il Seguitare Delle Stagione (2000)

I stop here 'cause too new material needs some exposure to check if they'll survive the roughness of time. Anyway, Edera and Notabene are bands that released albums that are great contesters to the masterpiece realm. Well, that's my opinion. Wink

Well, all it took was the first few minutes of Arbeit Macht Frei and I'm sold.

BTW, the compilation I have isn't in the archives, so I tried adding it.  Does it automatically go into the database or does it get vetted first?

repeat after me... Area is NOT a Jazz Rock Fusion group...

2%20stars I like a lot of Jazz Rock Fusion......but this is just not for me....The vocals are extremely unusual and annoying.....and even the horns are jarring for large portions......There are some excellent musical sections.....but they are overwhelmed by the annoying features for me.....

it is but one element in their sound.. and why they were moved... if but temporarily...

wtf?  Stratos is well-known for his excellence, his reputation preceded him for me and the reality meets expectations.

ahhhh... that is one of the defining aspects of Italian prog... and not the first time I've heard it Pat... that the vocals can be ...well..  a bit daunting for the first time listener.  He truly was one of the greatest of all prog vocalists... but the style.. well.. many can not differentiate between quality and taste either.

Forgot to add in the summary that Maledetti is also included, in its entirety I think.

edit: fixed.

Excellent purchaseClap
So that box has Arbeit, Caution Radiation Area, Are(A)zione and Crac?
There is another boxset (the one i have) called Revolution  released by Akarma some years ago, it has those four albums that i mentioned but despite i bought it last year, i have not opened any album Embarrassed, it looks beautiful as it is LOL.
Four excellent albums, i hope you enjoy them, Arbeit Macht Frei is still my favourite Area release, though Crac and Maledetti are also wonders of the Italian prog scene.
