As of June 2nd, Opeth posted the name for their new album to be "Ghost Reveries". Now I love Opeth, but to me this sounds a little mundane for me.

( I also wonder if it is ripped off by a band or song from the seventies as Mikael loves and admits to doing. )

I think you shouldn't judge the album by it's title...long before it's goint to be released...the music is what counts

i personally cant wait.  regarding the ghost theme, in one of the other forums here there was discussion of the ghosts that appear on some of the album covers, and My Arms Your Hearse is about a ghost too.

Just as long as there is no growling. Otherwise it will be like their other albums (except for one) which completely spoils their superb music.

limeyrob

It would have growling. Though, Mikael has said that a couple of songs would be mellow.

On -topic:

In my opinion it is a fine title. The song titles are cool too - like Harlequin Forest.

BTW, what y'all think about the addintion of Per to the band?

If it has nothing in common with MAYH, I'm a happy man.

I'm definetly excited about this album, but I was just commenting on how the title didn't strike me like their others have. Although the song Harlequin forest sounds awesome and it paints some weird picture in my head....but then again I thought this way about Blackwater Park, i'm just as judemental as an over zealous girl scout mother.

Mikael said a number of times that this could very well be their heaviest album....but then again maybe they literally mean the weight of the album? (haha)
