Ok, good evening, I'm still alive, and I need to spend some money, right now. So far I've picked out the following: Weidorje (yes, yes, way overdue getting this one...) Marcoeur first 2 albums Hmmm, maybe UZ 'Heresie'... I want more Koenjihyakkei but which one (I've only got 'Angherr Shisspa')? (Don't say 'all', please... ) [I also want more Area, but this is the wrong thread to ask about that...] Some other readily-available form of Zeuhl would also be fun. (i.e. something in the Wayside catalogue, not something that only ran to 50 original LP copies, the master tape is kept in a vault under a Swiss mountain, guarded by a rabid half-demon bass guitarist, was re-released ten years ago before I even cared and is now out of print... )

ah! Macoeur is mind blowing pour moi, esp. the first. Have you heard any Etron Fou Leloublan?
Hmmm, maybe UZ 'Heresie'...
Nice! I want more Koenjihyakkei but which one (I've only got 'Angherr Shisspa')? (Don't say 'all', please... )
re: Koenjihyakkei - definitely the 2nd called "II (aka Viva Koenji)" : Not quite as good as Angherr imo, but very close... the Skin Graft site [http://www.skingraftrecords.com/]
[I also want more Area, but this is the wrong thread to ask about that...]
I adore Area - the best is Arbeit Macht Frei imo, 2nd: Caution Radiation Area, #3: Crac!

one of my beloveds zeuhl titles is Dun - Eros. Eskaton's 4 Visions is sublime, but o.p. - ask here, I'm sure someone would be happy to send you an mp3 [mine's packed]
some other greats:
Zao - 7L
Pataphonie - Les Matins Blanc
Hellebore - Il y'a Des Jours
Vortex - Les Cyclone du Thanatos
Shub Niggurath - Les Morts Vont Vie
Toscco by Happy Family
ARCHAIA - same Arachnoid - same

Something James recommended to me (and I have yet to obtain ) was Francois Thollot, two albums by him I believe, Ceux d'en Face and Contact, with reviews of the latter more glowing. Don't know about Wayside but I know Greg Walker has both records.

re: Koenjihyakkei, I have their debut Hundred Sights of Koenji on the way; it was recently remastered and reissued, I believe. Our mutual friend MP07 likes Nivraym the best, so I'm afraid to tell you that the answer is indeed "all of them".

I've heard that name and I think I heard some samples that I liked. Ooh, 'Contact' is on special at Wayside... could be a contender! Although maybe I should go for 'Toscco' as recommended by Cleo...

Maybe I'll save all this for the forthcoming Yoshida-related shopping spree that I know is in the offing at some point...

All I know is that Angherr Shisspa is getting better with every listen.

For me Nivraym is only just behind Angherr Shisspa, but all the albums are essential. It's amazing how Yoshida can be so prolific and maintain such incredibly high standards.

I might wait a bit re. Koenji - see below! Damn, too many things to get!
lol - really! They were the 1st thing I heard after I freaked over Magma..
Got all 3 and am adoring them muchly myself! Area now holds the (coveted?) no. 2 spot in my recent most listened artists.
Ah, well they are the 3 best. Have you checked out Gnosis? It's a great way to make decisions. Search the DB and put in a few of your fave titles, and see what raters give them high marks to check out taste that may be sympathetic with yours. Then type in the title[s!] you're curious about, and see what someone whose taste jives w/ you thinks...
Dün = . Hmm, I would love to hear 4 Visions of course, but where's the fun in glibly passing mp3s around?! I'll have to go on one of my little quests for a 2nd hand copy.
Well, good luck! It's very hard to find [took me almost 2 years!] Their other titles are very good too - they're in print.
Have you heard Eider Stellaire? Classics of the genre. They were only released as lps long ago, so pretty impossible to get for less than $100.+, but you should really hear them - they are easily available on blogs all over.
I've heard that name and I think I heard some samples that I liked. Ooh, 'Contact' is on special at Wayside... could be a contender! Although maybe I should go for 'Toscco' as recommended by Cleo...
Tosco is very intense - sounds to me like it might be right up your alley, as it were....; )
Think it was I who turned many list folks onto Francois..They are both really good, but Contact by far the better of the two.
I thought so... Maybe I'll save all this for the forthcoming Yoshida-related shopping spree that I know is in the offing at some point...
What fun that will be! O my dear, if you haven't any yet, you NEED some Ruins! Their latter work much more zeuhl influenced, the earlier rather noise and hardcore-ish. I like Vrresto and Tzomborgha the best.

Their debut is absolutely outstanding, a must. I know you weren't crazy on Zao but I have to stress their live album again. It absolutely blows the studio releases out of the water for its sheer energy and musicianship. You'll love Ruins too, it's insane.

From now on, every day you listen to it, I'll give you a dime. For every day you don't, I'm going to burn your house down.

lol - really! They were the 1st thing I heard after I freaked over Magma.. Haha, music that freakifies = Other way round for me. I heard that Koenji piece, fell off my chair laughing (in a good way! ), realised there was a Magma connection (had heard of them years before but never listened), and 24 hours later my brain was saturated with MDK love.
Got all 3 and am adoring them muchly myself! Area now holds the (coveted?) no. 2 spot in my recent most listened artists.

It's all on the List...

Haha, you are very perceptive. Anything really sulky sounding with 'too many notes' is fine by me!
Think it was I who turned many list folks onto Francois..They are both really good, but Contact by far the better of the two. Just ordered it.

Gotta say, noise/hardcore doesn't sound very me, so I'll bear this in mind!
