Excellent technical  progressive metal Smile
Something like spiral architect.
Intense vocals too.(not harsh/extreme vocals)

Also, i second all the watchtower/Blotted Science/Spastic Ink suggestions in this thread!

Actually, I just heard Dark Deceiver for the first time last week,  the band is really beginning to become more tech prog metal oriented rather than just prog metal.
Excellent album, very heavy, very dark and intense. I love itSmile and I think the band are getting better at their art as time goes on.

^ love that album ... especially how the are able to combine the melodic side (which reminds me of Fates Warning) with the technical/intense experimentation of bands like Meshuggah (Downtuned guitar riffs, few polyrhythms but highly irregular breaks and signatures) or Cynic/Atheist (especially the bass).

I've bolded the stuff I know and listen to/have listened to.
I don't think Kreator is really all that technical, no more technical than Testament or Megadeth's Rust In Peace.
Protest The Hero is probably more appropriately described as technical progressive/metalcore, they aren't really thrash per se.
NecrophagistHeart but obviously not in the archives. One of my favorite death metal bands to listen to for sure.
Mekong Delta really just falls under thrash metal, even though I realise it's a technical step up from many thrash bands.

I'll check some of it out, it seems up my alley.

That was absolutely uncalled for and extremely rude. It's people like you that makes me wonder why I bother dedicating a lot of my free time for over 4 years doing what I do here on the Progressive Metal Team.

We considered Gorguts when the PMT were first formed but rejected them because I personally didn't want to add a band on the basis of one proggy album in their discography.

^Clap
If we added every band on the basis of one proggy album, heaps of bands that wouldn't suit the archives would have to be added.
And for people that haven't done so, please check to see if a band has already been rejected or is being voted on first.

Wow, i can't thank you enough for that Art Metal recommendation Mike. Their single myspace sample has been enough to get me addicted. I have alot to catch up on in this thread :D

I adore Negura Bunget! (albeit, they've certainly progressed very much since their early albums) They're style is really closer to Post Metal than most of the other bands in the Tech/Extreme genre,  so it's understandable that they don't get the attention that alot of the other Tech Prog bands do.
